Ethan Hawke Gives A Truly Fascinating Interview On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert (VIDEO)

If you’ve been following this site long enough, then you know Ethan Hawke is one of my favorite actors. He has starred in some truly incredible films: Dead Poets Society, Training Day, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight, Boyhood, and most recently First Reformed.

Not only do I love watching him on film, I also love his interviews. Even if he sucked as an actor, I’d still watch his interviews because he’s a fascinating/inspiring person.

I could hit you with a number of links to show off his greatness during interviews, but let’s stick with just one. While promoting First Reformed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hawke shared a lovely story about believing in yourself and taking advice from those who have mastered their craft.

Colbert just basically lets him talk for 10 minutes, and it’s great. Check out the video below, and if you haven’t seen it yet, go watch First Reformed.

Brendan Fraser Explains It All In Emotional Interview, Reveals He Destroyed His Body Doing Movie Stunts: “I Was Probably Trying Too Hard”

Remember the video above? It was all over the internet two years ago. It was easy to see that Brendan Fraser was depressed. You can just look in someone’s eyes and see it. He did not want to be interviewed. He probably wanted to be alone inside his house with all the lights off and a tub of ice cream.

And now we know why, thanks to a recent profile with GQ. The 49-year-old actor revealed that just a few days before doing that interview he lost his mother.

“‘I think I was in mourning, and I didn’t know what that meant.’ He hadn’t done press in a while; suddenly he was sitting on a stool in front of an audience, promoting the third season of a show he’d barely been on. ‘I wasn’t quite sure what the format was. And I felt like: Man, I got f–king old. Damn, this is the way it’s done now?'”

In the interview, Fraser also revealed he was trying “too hard” at one point in his career. He was taking any job he could get, and that f–ked his body up.

“I believe I probably was trying too hard, in a way that’s destructive. By the time I did the third Mummy picture in China [in 2008] I was put together with tape and ice — just, like, really nerdy and fetishy about ice packs. Screw-cap ice packs and downhill-mountain-biking pads, ’cause they’re small and light and they can fit under your clothes. I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily.”

He had a partial knee replacement and several back surgeries, revealing he basically spent seven years going in and out of the hospital, which is the main reason he was out of the spotlight for so long.

The other reason? He was sexually assaulted by Philip Berk, a former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association…

“On Fraser’s way out of the hotel, he was hailed by Philip Berk, a former president of the HFPA. In the midst of a crowded room, Berk reached out to shake Fraser’s hand. Much of what happened next Berk recounted in his memoir and was also reported by Sharon Waxman in The New York Times: He pinched Fraser’s ass—in jest, according to Berk. But Fraser says what Berk did was more than a pinch: ‘His left hand reaches around, grabs my ass cheek, and one of his fingers touches me in the taint. And he starts moving it around.’ Fraser says that in this moment he was overcome with panic and fear.”

It’s safe to say Fraser’s life hasn’t been the greatest the past few years, but it’s getting better and now he’s starring in the upcoming FX series, Trust, which is scheduled to premiere March 25, 2018.

Harrison Ford And Ryan Gosling Have A Hilarious Interview With Reporter Who Has An Infectious Laugh (VIDEO)

It’s been a terrible week for the world with the incredibly depressing mass shooting in Las Vegas and the death of Tom Petty. We all could use a laugh or two, and thankfully you’re about to get those laughs.

Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling have been busy doing interviews promoting their new film together, Blade Runner 2049, and most of the interviews have been pretty standard (aka boring)

But one reporter named Alison Hammond brought some much needed life to the interview session. She was interviewing the two stars on Wednesday morning, and she immediately grabbed their attention with her infectious laugh.

I’ve never seen Ford laugh this hard. It was delightful seeing him have so much fun, and you know, Gosling is always entertaining and charming.

By the way, Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters this weekend. Go watch it.

Interview With Ryan Reynolds And Jake Gyllenhaal Gets Weird While Promoting ‘Life’ (VIDEO)

The best time to catch celebrities in a silly/deranged state is when they’re in the middle of a long day filled with interviews. They sit in a small room, and watch as multiple reporters from around the country come in to ask them the same questions over and over again.

It can be draining, and sometimes they are forced to have fun with it…or else they’ll lose their minds. We saw this happen recently with the stars of ‘Life,’ Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal.

They were doing interviews together in Austin when one reporter asked about the alien in the movie. He asked if they knew what Calvin (the alien) looked like.

Check out what happened…

You can tell they need a break. It’s like when you were a kid, and you were trying to stay up until sunrise, but at around 3 or 4 in the morning you’d start having conversations with your lamp.

Anyway, Life hits theaters March 24, 2017. It’s been getting some pretty great reviews.

Ben Affleck Has Finally Acknowledged The Sad Affleck Meme, Check Out What He Had To Say…

You’ll remember when Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was released back in March of 2016, most critics destroyed the movie. It was a surprise to everyone because the trailers made it look like it was going to be one of the best films of the year.

There were too many cooks in the kitchen, though. The film was a mess and it was obvious to the world that Ben Affleck was super disappointed.

Who could forget this uncomfortable interview?

This opened the door for the ‘sad affleck’ meme to take over the internet, and it did for several months.

Affleck managed to avoid talking about the meme for nearly a year, but during a recent interview with BBC, he finally addressed the meme.

He was asked what the experience of working on a film as big as Batman V Superman taught him as an actor, he responded with this great line…

“It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don’t say anything and they can lay Simon & Garfunkel tracks over it. That’s one thing I learned.”

Watch a clip from the interview below:

With Just 10 More Days To Wait, Ben Affleck Says He Is “Proud & Relaxed” Before ‘Batman V Superman’ Hits Theaters!

bef

Most of you already know about the drama surrounding the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice film. Hardcore fans of the series lost their freaking minds when one of the final trailers revealed Doomsday’s role in the movie.

Some fans claimed they weren’t going to support the movie because of the spoilers inside the trailer. But even with all the drama, the box-office projections for Dawn of Justice are looking just fine, which is probably why Ben Affleck isn’t worried.

He talked with The LA Times recently about some of the hateful comments being shared online. The reporter asked him directly if it was possible to ignore the negative reactions…

“Nobody tweeted about ‘Casablanca,’ and look at how they did. [Laughs] From directing movies myself, at this point I always feel too enmeshed with it, where I get this panicked sense of like, “Is it good? It’s horrible, right? It’s going to bomb.” But I have a little more sense of remove from this. I feel relaxed and I’m proud of the movie and excited for people to see it. It’s a much nicer feeling. I’m so glad I’m not Zack.”

Not exactly a surprising response from the actor. He’s not going to say anything to piss off the fans. They are just now accepting him. You all remember the outrage online when it was announced he would be playing Batman.

He’s probably just happy the fans aren’t attacking him anymore. All their anger seems to be directed at Zack Snyder now.

George Miller Claims He’s Finished With The ‘Mad Max’ Franchise, Find Out Why Inside!

mad

Earlier this month, it seemed like George Miller was considering a return to the Mad Max universe. He told Entertainment Weekly that Charlize Theron‘s Furiosa was a “pretty compelling character” and would make for a great Mad Max spin-off film.

And he still might believe that, but after hearing the comments he gave at the Golden Globes, it’s clear he doesn’t want to be the one directing the potential spin-off.

The Mad Max: Fury Road director told Page Six the following…

“I won’t make more Mad Max movies. I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those ‘Mad Maxes’ take forever. I won’t do those anymore.”

We all knew filming Fury Road was brutal, but it certainly seemed to be worth it. It’s already received several awards and it was just recently announced as the best-reviewed film of 2015 by Rotten Tomatoes. It scored an incredible 97% rating on the site.

But we must remember Miller will be 71-years-old in just a few months. He’s had a ridiculously successful career in Hollywood. Why not end one of his most beloved franchises on the highest of notes? You can’t blame the guy.

How Did Will Smith React When He Discovered His ‘Independence Day’ Character Died?

inde

As most of you know, the Independence Day sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence, will not feature Will Smith. Some fans were still hoping his character would make a surprise appearance in the sequel, but those dreams were crushed when the promotional website for the film announced that his character died several years ago.

While test piloting the ESD’s first alien hybrid fighter, an unknown malfunction caused the untimely death of Col. Hiller.” The website reported. It was shocking news to Independence Day fans around the world.

Including Will Smith himself. While promoting his latest film, Concussion, he was asked about what it was like finding out the depressing news, “It was terrible when I found out my character died.” He told Yahoo! Movies.

He added that he actually talked with the film’s director before they made the decision…

“I was working on Suicide Squad during that time. Roland and I had talked about it. The trailer looks really cool. I’m going to be sitting around with tears in my eyes when that one comes out.”

You won’t be the only one, Smith. The good news is that Smith’s character will live on through his son Dylan Dubrow-Hiller played by Jessie Usher.

The film hits theaters June 24, 2016.

The Great Leonardo DiCaprio Explains Why He Decided To Pass On The Chance To Be In Star Wars Prequels

star

Will Leonardo DiCaprio finally get that Oscar for his performance in The Revenant? No one knows, but you can bet we will bring it up every single time we write a story about him. HE DESERVES ONE!!!

Tell him Mr. Weeknd…

Anyway, an old interview Leo did with ShortList magazine is getting a lot of attention this week. In the interview, the actor admitted he passed on the chance to play young Anakin Skywalker in two of the three Star Wars prequels.

Why would he do such a thing? Because he wasn’t ready.

I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that, yes. [I] just didn’t feel ready to take that dive. At that point.

It seems like Leo wasn’t ready for several huge roles 10-15 years ago. As some of you may remember, he was also up for the role of Peter Parker in 2002’s Spider-Man.

“Er, that was another one of those situations, similar to Robin, where I didn’t feel ready to put on that suit yet. They got in touch with me.”

You have to believe he’s not being completely honest here. He is one of the best actors in the business. Deep down, he probably feels ready for any role out there. Maybe he just felt like these roles weren’t challenging him as an actor.

Why do we believe that? Well, because when he was asked if he would ever play a superhero one day, he gave this interesting response…

“You never know. You never know. They’re getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven’t yet. But no, I don’t rule out anything.”

What Was The Best Movie Of The Year? This Is What Quentin Tarantino Thinks…

quee

On Christmas night, I will be watching Quentin Tarantino‘s latest film, The Hateful Eight. From the reports I have been hearing, it sounds like it’s going to be an amazing experience. It will probably end up being one of my favorite movies of the year.

But I realize no one cares about my “top 10 movies of 2015” list. It’s more interesting for everyone to hear what filmmakers in Hollywood believe is the best movie of 2015.  And fortunately, thanks to the French outlet Premiere, we have Tarantino’s pick for the best film of the year.

They asked him the question during the Paris Premiere of his new movie…

“It would have to be the Mad Max movie, Fury Road….I got a print of Mad Max on 35mm and I watched it in my house, and I had it all weekend and I ended up watching it three different times. And I resisted seeing it for a while because I was like, ‘Mad Max without Mel Gibson? Forget that!’ In a world where Mel Gibson exists, how can you cast Tom Hardy? So, I even wanted to get all defiant about it and #NotMyMax. Then I saw the movie and, ‘Okay, it’s terrific,’ and he’s pretty good in it, I have to admit, he’s pretty good.”

That’s certainly a safe choice. The film has already received several awards this year, including being named the year’s best movie by the National Board Of Review. It has thirteen Critics Choice nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.

And by the way, for those thinking Quentin is a film snob who could never enjoy watching a silly romantic comedy. You should probably watch the video below…
