Jordan Peele Drops Surprise Poster For His New Movie Titled ‘Nope’ With Daniel Kaluuya

We have been waiting months to hear more about Jordan Peele’s latest flick, and thankfully today (July 22) we’re getting a little more information. Just a little though.

The filmmaker revealed the title and the first poster for his next project. The movie is titled ‘Nope‘ and it’s set to star Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. As most of you know, Peele previously worked with Oscar-winner Kaluuya on his debut feature, Get Out.

Check out the poster below…

What does it mean? No idea. We don’t really know anything else about the project, beyond the cast, title, release date and this poster.

He didn’t even provide us with a logline, and he probably won’t for a long time. We probably won’t get more information until the trailer drops sometime early next year, at least that’s our best guess.

Of note, on the IMDB page for this project, there’s an actor credited as a “Fry’s Customer” and an actor credited as “Kid Sheriff”

What does that tell us? Not sure. Fry’s was a big box electronics store, which recently shut down all stores due to the changes in the retail industry and COVID-19. So it’s possible one of the characters works at a Fry’s, or maybe some aliens take over a store. Or maybe all the electronics in the world cause some sort of mayhem.

I DON’T KNOW! WHY IS THERE A KID SHERIFF? We’ll just have to wait for more answers.

Pixar Releases New Poster For Upcoming Film ‘Luca’

While most studios are solely focused on sequels/remakes, Pixar has been out here taking chances. After the release of Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 in 2018/2019, the studio has been focused on original material.

They released Onward and Soul in 2020, both original films. And their next feature, Luca, is also an original idea.

The original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface.

This film was directed by Enrico Casarosa, and he told reporters that this story is deeply personal for him, because he’s also a sea monster from another world.

No, really. It’s a personal story for him because it’s set in the Italian Riviera, where he grew up.

This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become and it is those bonds that are at the heart of our story in Luca.

Pixar just released the new poster you see below for the film. It’s currently scheduled to be released on June 18. It’s not clear if it’ll be released on Disney+ or theaters…or both.

Check Out The First Poster For Tom Holland’s Upcoming Film ‘Cherry’

You may know Tom Holland best as Spider-Man, but he’s not confined to the superhero space when it comes to acting.

He’s got Oscar-level talent, and some people say he has the potential to get nominated for his upcoming drama ‘Cherry‘ which is based on the novel of the same by Nico Walker.

Holland teamed up with the Russo brothers to create this film, which features Holland as an U.S. Army medic who returns home to Ohio and develops an opioid addiction.

Ciara Bravo stars as Holland’s character’s wife, who also becomes an addict. The young couple begin robbing banks into to fund their drug habit.

The impressive cast list includes Bill Skarsgård, Jack Reynor and Forrest Goodluck.

In an interview a few weeks back, the Russo brothers talked about how personal this story is for them..

We have a lot of people in our family that have either passed on or died from the crisis, or are struggling with their current addiction.

This is a movie that’s supposed to define the experience of having PTSD, the experience of being addicted to opioids.

Below, you can find the poster, which has people a little confused, considering you can’t really make out that it says “cherry” at the bottom.

In any event, the movie will hit select theaters in February and then be released on Apple TV+ on March 12.

Most movie releases have been pushed back, due to the theaters being closed all across the world, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end completely.

We still have streaming platforms like Netflix, and thank God for that. They most recently provided us with Love is Blind and the incredible Tiger King documentary, and now they’re getting us ready for an action flick starring Chris Hemsworth.

Extraction, which is set to hit the streaming giant on April 24, stars Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, “a mercenary who’s tasked with liberating the son of a crime boss who has been kidnapped.”

This film marks the directorial debut of Sam Hargrave, who previously worked as a stunt coordinator on several big action flicks. The movie was written by Joe Russo, one half of the Russo brothers.

But before Friday arrives, we’re being treated to the first poster and teaser trailer.

Not much is known about the plot at this point, but Charlize Theron is expected to return as Cipher, the villain of The Fate of the Furious. (That doesn’t necessarily mean she’s the villain of this movie; Fast bad guys have a habit of turning face after a movie or two.)

The previous film, Fate of the Furious, was not received well by critics or the general audience, but it still made over $1 billion worldwide.

And as long as they keep seeing box office results, they will continue to pump these films out.
