If you’ve been following the marketing for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, then you know a lot of fans are super pissed about the latest trailer. They feel the reveal of Doomsday was a huge spoiler that almost completely ruins the movie for them.

But the director of the film, Zack Snyder, wants everyone to know it’s going to be okay. In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Snyder explained that he wants the audience to start thinking about the bigger picture, outside of the conflict between Superman and Batman.

“I know what’s in the movie, so I know there’s other stuff. We had a long conversation about just taking ownership of that. He [Doomsday] has his own mythology… so that has to be explored. I really wanted to make the audience a promise that… though I’m super excited and happy and fulfilled by the conflict of Batman and Superman, there’s also a bigger world to start to think about.”

It’s a move that makes sense to me, but I’m merely your typical fan who only gets involved when the movies come out. Hardcore fans might not be satisfied with Snyder’s explanation.

But remember, we have only seen a few minutes of this film from the trailers. Snyder has seen and meticulously worked on every single minute of the film. Let’s trust he knows what he is doing.

You can silently judge the film in a theater near you March 25, 2016.
