‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Has Its Release Date Pushed Back, Find Out The New Release Date Inside!

We got some slightly sad news for all you ‘Wonder Woman‘ fans out there. It was announced this week that the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman 1984‘ would be pushed back seven months from November 1, 2019, to June 5, 2020.

Jeff Goldstein, president of domestic distribution for Warner Bros., released the following statement

“We had tremendous success releasing the first ‘Wonder Woman’ film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

I suppose that makes sense. The first film certainly had a lot of success with its summer release date. The movie earned $821.8 million worldwide. $412.6 million of that is from North America.

Gal Gadot will return to star in the film and Patty Jenkins is returning to direct.

We will keep you posted as more information is released!

‘Wonder Woman 2’ Gets New Release Date, Find Out When Gal Gadot Will Return To The Big Screen

Last week, there were reports claiming Gal Gadot wouldn’t sign for a ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel unless Brett Ratner’s name was removed from the franchise. It looks like those reports were false, mostly because Gadot has already signed a deal for the sequel. She is locked in at this point.

And to prove this, Warner Bros. announced the new (official) release date for Wonder Woman 2. The new date is November 1, 2019, which is a month and half earlier than originally announced.

November 2019 promises to be a pretty huge month at the box office. MGM’s next James Bond film is scheduled to be released one week after Wonder Woman 2 on November 8. You also have an untitled fox/marvel film being released on November 22. Oh, and then there is Frozen 2 on November 27.

The first Wonder Woman film was released back in June of this year, and it’s made a total of $821 million worldwide, $412 million of that coming from the US.

We will keep you posted on this Wonder Woman sequel as more information is released!

Kate Beckinsale Finally Reveals Why She Passed On Wonder Woman Several Years Ago

Right now, Gal Gadot is the only Wonder Woman the world knows. She killed it in the role, and the movie has made almost $800 million worldwide. It’s a huge success and all parties involved must be extremely pleased with how everything turned out.

But back in the mid-2000s, there was a different Wonder Woman project floating around. The script for the unmade film was written by Joss Whedon, and at one time, Kate Beckinsale’s name was attached to the project.

She decided to decline the offer, though. And during a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, the actress explained why she passed, and she came pretty close to throwing some major shade.

“The incarnations that I was seeing were…they weren’t this one,” she said, clearly trying to censor herself. She also admitted to not being crazy about the outfits…

“I don’t know if I was desperate to be in a leotard. I’d already done the rubber trousers. You have to take in that you have a child at some point and how much could you possibly embarrass them.”

It’s worth noting that Whedon’s script leaked earlier this year, and fans of the franchise were slamming it for its treatment of the character.

Looks like Beckinsale made the right choice.

Gal Gadot Reportedly Made Just $300,000 For ‘Wonder Woman’ Is This Another Sign Of Hollywood Sexism?

Wonder Woman‘ was a huge success. You all know this. It’s made over $500 million at the global box office, and both critics and fans absolutely love it. It was one of the biggest, most refreshing surprises of the summer.

And one would think the star of the film, Gal Gadot, received a huge check for her work. But according to multiple reports, Gadot only made $300,000.

But before we call out Hollywood for sexism, we should note that Chris Evans earned roughly the same amount for the first Captain America movie. Also, you have to remember that Gadot was relatively unknown as an actress when she signed the three-movie deal, which has her getting multiple $300,000 checks. One for Batman v Superman, one for Wonder Woman and one for Justice League. That’s $900,000 total.

According to insiders, there were bonuses worked in for Wonder Woman, so she will probably earn a lot more than $300,000. And when they decide to make a Wonder Woman 2, you can bet she’ll be making millions.

TMZ reports:

“We’re told the $300k is about right, but sources familiar with the negotiations tell TMZ she has ‘huge performance bonuses’ for ‘Wonder Woman’ and she will end up with many times the base salary.”

No way she accepts another $300,000 offer.

‘Wonder Woman’ Breaks Another Record, Is The Most Tweeted Movie Of 2017!

It’s 2017, and records like “Most-Tweeted Movie of the Year” exist. Social media plays a huge role in how successful a film might be. When it becomes popular online, it also becomes popular at the box office, which means $$$$$$$$.

Wonder Woman‘ has already smashed several records at the box office, including the record for biggest-ever opening weekend for a film directed by a woman. It’s already made over $220 million globally, and that number will continue to go up this weekend as it will dominate once again.

But it’s not just breaking records at the box office. It’s breaking records online, as well. It is the most tweeted-about movie of 2017 in the United States.

It’s collected more than 2.19 million tweets so far this year, which beats out La La Land and Beauty and the Beast. In addition to that record, the Wonder Woman character (played by Gal Gadot) is also the most tweeted-about film character of the year. Batman is in second place, and Chris Pine’s character, Steve Trevor, sits in third place.

It is all good news for Wonder Woman. Great reviews, fans love it, it’s already made back its budget, and it’s breaking all kinds of records.

What else could you possibly ask for? An Oscar? Maybe we should ask Vin Diesel about that…

The ‘Wonder Woman’ Box Office Projections Were Way Off, Find Out Just How Much It Made Inside

So, uh, remember last week when we told you the experts were predicting ‘Wonder Woman’ would open to around $80 million? Well, they were a little off.

The superhero film took home $103.1 million during its opening weekend, which is more than anyone thought it would make. It now (safely) holds the record for the biggest-ever opening weekend for a film directed by a woman.

Sam Taylor-Johnson’sFifty Shades of Grey’ previously held the record with $81.7 million in 2015.

Wonder Woman took home an additional $122.5 million from the international box office, which puts the global opening number at an impressive $223 million.

The film is just the 16th superhero movie to break the $100 million mark domestically in its opening weekend. It had a better opening weekend than Thor, Iron Man and Captain America.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wonder Woman had a different audience than most superhero films. 52 percent of first weekend audiences were women. Previous DC and Marvel films worked with audiences with a male majority of at least 60 percent.

So yeah, if you build it they will come. Hollywood can stop worrying about that now.

‘Wonder Woman’ Is On Its Way To A Record Breaking Weekend, Scores $11 Million On Thursday Night!

Currently, Fifty Shades of Grey holds the record for top domestic debut by a film directed by a woman. The Sam Taylor-Johnson directed film opened to an impressive $85 million back in 2015.

But we might have a new record holder after this weekend. Wonder Woman, which was directed by the extremely talented Patty Jenkins, took home $11 million during its Thursday night preview. That’s a wonderful number, and it paints a nice picture for the rest of the weekend.

Experts believe the film will take home around $35 million on Friday, and their three-day prediction sits at around the $86 million mark. That’s on the low end.

It could reach $90 million, and if it does, it will easily break the record held by Fifty Shades of Grey. As we told you earlier this week, the film is getting great reviews from critics. It’s certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and the fans who attended the early screening on Thursday were just as delighted as the critics.

This should be a great weekend for the major studios after a disappointing Memorial Day weekend. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie is also being released this weekend, and it’s expected to have a solid $30 million opening.

Check out the trailer for both films below…

Reviews For ‘Wonder Woman’ Are Coming Out, And They Are Extremely Positive!

Hollywood could use some good news after the incredibly disappointing Memorial Day weekend. If you didn’t see the numbers, you can click on this link to check out the box office numbers.

But Wonder Woman is here to save the day, and possibly even the summer. The film, which opens June 2, is getting great reviews from critics. It currently sits at a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It has 63 fresh reviews and just 2 rotten reviews.

Comic Book Resources opened their review with this headline, “Wonder Woman Review’: Far And Away The Best DCEU Movie Yet”

“Tasked with the harrowing challenge of helming the first female-fronted superhero film of the genre’s latest boom, Jenkins delivers the full package, an enthralling journey with exhilarating and inventive action, a charismatic cast, moments of heartwarming levity and heart-wrenching drama, and — best of all — a protagonist we can clutch to, and want to follow on more and more adventures.”

Forbes’ Mark Hughes wrote this in his review…

“Wonder Woman is an electrifying, breathtaking cinematic achievement sure to win the hearts and minds of audiences around the world.”

And finally io9’s Germain Lussier had this to say about the movie…

“Gal Gadot’s Diana is her best performance to date, blending the kindness, power, and innocence needed for the iconic character. Her story is very clean and very aggressively paced, peppered with lots of action, just the right amount of mythology, and — for the first time in a DCEU film — a lot of humor.”

Sounds promising, yeah? It should dominate the box office this weekend. The positive reviews will help put a few more butts in the seats.

Of course this could be a case of critics afraid to speak their mind because it’s a female-focused superhero movie. We saw a similar thing happen with Jordan Peele’sGet Out‘ film. Critics were a bit excessive with their reviews because of the subject matter. We’re not saying Get Out was a bad movie. It was a good film.

But it was not 99% rating good. The same thing could be happening with Wonder Woman.

‘Batman V Superman’ Fans Can Stop Worrying Now, First Reactions From Premiere Have Been Overwhelmingly Positive!

While critics have been forced to hold back their ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” reviews until Tuesday, regular ol’ fans who were lucky enough to attend the New York premiere of the movie have been sharing their thoughts on Twitter.

And it looks like you hardcore fans can stop freaking out about that second trailer, which allegedly ruined the whole movie for you.  Oh, and the same goes for you Ben Affleck haters. He apparently “killed it” as Batman, and in 2016, killing something is a good thing.

Check out some of the early reactions below…

Yeah, this is an incredibly small sample size, but these reactions are so positive that it’s hard to see how this movie is going to disappoint. It’s not like they’re saying, “Oh, it was okay. I enjoyed it.” They are calling it one of the best superhero films of all time.

It even made this dude cry.

We’ll wait until we hear from the professional reviewers before throwing our undies on stage, but things are looking good right now.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters this Friday, March 25. But if you’re a real fan, you already have your tickets for the early screenings on Thursday.

Wonder Woman Actress Gal Gadot Responds To The Fans Hating On Her Boobs

gal

When it was announced that Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot would be starring as Wonder Woman in several upcoming DC films, fans of the beloved character were quick to criticize the decision.

But the online hate had nothing to do with Gadot’s acting abilities. Fans complained that she was too skinny to play the character, and that her boobs were not big enough. And while that might have scared some people away from the role, Gadot is not letting the criticism get her down.

In fact, she brushed off the negative comments with a fine display of humor. During a recent interview with Robot Underdog, the 29-year-old actress had this to say…

“They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small… When I was younger I would take criticism really hard. But now it mostly amuses me. The true amazons had one boob so it wouldn’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t.”

Good for her. That’s the correct way to respond to silly comments. I think some of these fans are a little too passionate about the characters. They have developed their own version of how the real life character should look, and if the actress or actor picked for the role doesn’t match the image in their head, they get a little crazy.

Anyway, you can catch Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s scheduled for a March 25, 2016 release date. And then she gets her own film in 2017, followed by Justice League Part One.
