George Clooney Reveals He Was Hospitalized After Losing Weight Too Quickly For New Role

We told you earlier this week about George Clooney’s upcoming movie, Midnight Sky. He directed/produced/starred in the film, which features a post-apocalyptic world.

In the movie, Clooney plays a “lonely scientist in the arctic who races against time with a mute stowaway named Iris (newcomer Caoilinn Springall) to stop a group of astronauts from returning home to a global catastrophe.”

During an interview with the Mirror on Wednesday, Clooney revealed that he was rushed to the hospital while filming the movie due to intense stomach pains.

It was determined inside the hospital that he had pancreatitis.

I think I was trying too hard to lose the weight quickly and probably wasn’t taking care of myself. It took a few weeks to get better and as a director, it’s not so easy because you need energy. We were out on this glacier in Finland, which made it a lot harder work. But it certainly helped with the character.

And what’s why they pay him the big bucks. Well, that and he’s classically handsome.

The good news is that he’s feeling much better now. If you’d like to see just how skinny Clooney was, the film is set to premiere on Netflix on December 23.
