Jonah Hill Is Now A Filmmaker, Check Out The First Trailer For His Coming-Of-Age Drama ‘Mid90s’

If you thought Jonah Hill was just that “funny fat guy” from Superbad, then you obviously haven’t been following his career. The dude is talented, and being funny is not even his best quality. He’s a legit actor, and he’s well on his way to becoming a legit filmmaker.

The 34-year-old star wrote and directed a film titled ‘Mid90s‘ and the first trailer was released today.

The coming-of-age dramedy follows a 13-year-old boy named Stevie in ’90s-era LA. Stevie has a troubled home life, but during one magical summer he meets a group of new friends at Motor Avenue skate shop.

If you’re expecting a lot of laughs in this trailer, you might be disappointed. This trailer actually feels pretty dark. There are one or two comedic moments, but for the most part, we’re seeing how challenging life is for Stevie.

Sunny Suljic plays Stevie in the movie. Lucas Hedges plays his abusive brother, and you know he’s probably going to steal the show just like he did in Manchester by the Sea.

Mid90s will hit theaters October 19, 2018. Check out the trailer below…
