You may have heard the tragic news surrounding the 30-year-old actor Eddie Hassell. He was shot and killed back on November 1 outside his girlfriend’s house in Texas.
At the time, people suspected it was a carjacking, and it looks like that has now been confirmed.
An 18-year-old suspect named D’Jon Antone was arrested without incident by a fugitive task force in North Texas. He’s being held on a capital murder charge.
Antone is being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $500,000. Detectives ruled that the robbery was random and Antone is not a resident of Grand Prairie. The case is being referred to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office.
Such a sad story. It doesn’t appear that Hassell knew this guy at all. A random, senseless act of violence.
Hassell was born on July 16, 1990, in Corsicana, Tex. He held several small film and TV roles throughout the 2000s and 2010s, most notably as Clay in the 2010 film ‘The Kids Are All Right,’ which also starred Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo. The film earned a nomination for best picture at the Academy Awards in 2011.
