As ‘The Fast and the Furious‘ franchise has continued on for years and years, they’ve progressively gotten lazier and lazier with the titles.
Now, with this ninth installment, the title is simply F9. And we’re sure the tenth film will just be, “F”
This ninth installment was originally supposed to be released in May of 2020, but was pushed back due to the coronavirus. It’s now set to be released on June 25, 2021. And if it doesn’t get pushed back, it’ll be the first major blockbuster to debut since Tenet last fall.
Vin Diesel‘s Dom is back in the driver’s seat, while Justin Lin (who helmed parts three through six of the series) returns to the director’s chair for F9. F9 sees the return of many favorite and not-so-favorite characters, with an ensemble that includes Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
After this ninth film is released, the studio has plans to release a tenth and eleventh film. It’s believed that number 11 will be the last one.
