Sony Drops Several Release Dates For Upcoming Films, Including The ‘Sicario’ Sequel…GET THE DETAILS INSIDE!

We have some exciting news to report. Well, I guess it’s only exciting if you’ve watched Sicario. The crime/thriller released in 2015 was a surprise hit, earning a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and bringing in a little over $85 million at the US box office. That’s not bad when you consider the budget was just $30 million.

If, for some reason, you haven’t watched the movie yet…please change that now. Or at least change it before June 29, 2018, because that’s when Sicario 2: Soldado is coming out.

Sony announced the news on Friday. Some of you might remember that the live-action Barbie film was scheduled for that June 29 release date, but it’s been pushed back to August 8, 2018.

The studio also announced that Bad Boys 3 no longer has a set date. It was originally scheduled for November 9, 2018, but sources says they are having trouble with the script right now. Everyone is still interested in making it, but it might take a bit of time to rewrite the script.

I have a feeling Bad Boys 3 won’t happen. It’s starting to feel like one of those films. You hear it talked about for years, but it never actually gets made. But we’ll see, I’ve been wrong several times before.

At least we know Sicario 2 is just one year away from being released now.

Fox Announces Release Dates For Six Mystery Marvel Movies!

Well, 20th Century Fox just made Marvel fans very excited today. They announced release dates for six mystery Marvel movies through 2021.

Here are the scheduled release dates:

  • June 7, 2019
  • November 22, 2019
  • March 13, 2020
  • June 26, 2020
  • October 2, 2020
  • March 5, 2021

It’s likely that a third Deadpool movie will take up one of the dates listed above, most likely the June 26, 2020 date. Deadpool 2 is currently scheduled to be released June 1, 2018.

Fox also owns the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, so you can expect those universes to mix in with the dates listed above. We’ve been hearing talks about a Logan spinoff, but that has not been confirmed.

Variety also reports:

“Another slated stand-alone spinoff could be “Gambit” from the X-Men. Channing Tatum has been confirmed to portray the title role, although the film’s production has been pushed back multiple times. Numerous setbacks caused director Rupert Wyatt to exit the project in 2015.”

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released. For now, just be excited that you won’t be short on Marvel films in the coming years.

Before we even get to 2019, we’ll have The New Mutants on April 13, 2018, Deadpool 2 in June and X-Men: Dark Phoenix in November, 2018.

Disney Sets Release Dates For Lion King, Frozen 2 And Star Wars…GET ALL THE DATES INSIDE!

Are you ready for this? Disney decided to play nice today. They revealed the release dates to several upcoming films, including the live-action Lion King, Star Wars, and Frozen 2.

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released in 3D on May 24, 2019. It was expected to be released in 2019, but it’s nice to have an actual date now.

Disney also announced that Jon Favreau’s live-action The Lion King will hit theaters July 19, 2019, which means 2019 is going to be a HUGE year for the studio. In addition to Star Wars and The Lion King, they’ll also release Frozen 2 on November 27, 2019. Oh, and you can’t forget about TOY STORY FREAKING 4 ON JUNE 21, 2019!

That’s right, folks. Star Wars, The Lion King, Toy Story 4 and the sequel to Frozen all in the same year. They are going to dominate the box office.

Before their year of domination, Disney will release the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph on November 21, 2018, and Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time gets a March 9, 2018 release date.

It’s going to be a wild few years for Disney, and we can’t wait to see how much money they bring in. Disney’s 2019 is going to smash so many records.

‘Toy Story 4’ Release Date Pushed Back, ‘The Incredibles 2’ Moves Up To Summer 2018

We got good news and we have bad news. Or we just simply have bad news if you’re worried Pixar is about to ruin two great film franchises.

The release dates for The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 have been swapped. If you’ve been following the Toy Story 4 journey, then you know the film was scheduled to be released in the summer of 2018, but Disney just announced they are pushing it back ’til June 21, 2019.

The Incredibles 2, which was originally scheduled for 2019, will move up one year to take over the now vacant June 15, 2018 slot. Disney insiders claim this has nothing to do with problems surrounding Toy Story 4. The move was made due to an accelerated production schedule for The Incredibles 2 film.

Hopefully they spend this extra time thinking about if another Toy Story film is really necessary. They ended on such a wonderful note…why risk trying it again? Because if the movie sucks, then they’re going to make a Toy Story 5 to redeem themselves. It’ll never end.

For those of you who haven’t heard, this upcoming sequel will focus on the love between Woody and Bo Peep. It’ll be a love story. Franchise director John Lasseter told Entertainment Weekly that the characters are like family to him, and he’s excited to work with them again.

“We love these characters so much, they are like family to us. We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before.”

Getting fans excited by announcing release dates for films still 3-5 years away is the cool thing to do now. Almost every studio is doing it, and now Disney is giving us a look at their jam-packed schedule.

And coming with this schedule are two huge announcements. There will be a Jungle Book 2 coming soon, and the incredibly talented Jon Favreau will return to direct the sequel. We also know there will be a Maleficent 2 coming soon, and both Angelina Jolie and screenwriter Linda Woolverton will be returning.

They also confirmed Jungle Cruise is still being developed, which is a film adaptation of a popular Disney theme park attraction. Dwayne Johnson has been connected to the project.

And while Disney has announced their claimed release dates for the next three years, they haven’t revealed which films will go in each slot. Right now, we know Alice Through the Looking Glass will be released on May 27, 2016, followed by Pete’s Dragon in August and Beauty and the Beast in March of 2017.

The rest of the schedule looks like this:

“UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) previously dated on 12/22/17 moves up to 7/28/17
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 4/6/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 8/3/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 12/25/18
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 12/20/19″

We’ll keep you posted. It’ll be interesting to see which films grab the desired spots. Lots of big spots in that list, including two summer releases and a Christmas day release.

Vin Diesel Confirms ‘Fast & Furious’ Will Be 10-Film Series, Announces Release Dates For The Final Three Films

vinn

Even though Furious 7 would have been the perfect way to end the successful ‘Fast & Furious‘ franchise, we all knew it wouldn’t be the end once it went on to earn $1.516 billion worldwide.

When a film brings in that much money, it’s going to get a sequel.

And now things are official. Vin Diesel and Universal have confirmed the world will be getting at least three more films in the franchise to make it a 10-film series. The 48-year-old actor shared the exciting news on his Instagram account late Tuesday night.

As you can see in the photo above, the release dates are April 14, 2017 for Fast 8, April 19, 2019 for the 9th film, and the final film will hit theaters April 2, 2021.

And I don’t know about you, but I get nervous thinking about anything scheduled after 2020. It doesn’t feel like an actual date to me. Anyway, if 2021 is actually a thing that happens, I hope some theater is brave enough to show all 10 films. I’m not a huge fan of the franchise, but I would probably be one of the idiots who purchased tickets just to join the experience.

Maybe Shia LaBeouf would be willing to host the event. He seems to enjoy painfully long movie marathons.

Sony Pictures Reveals Release Dates For ‘Jumanji’ Reboot And ‘Bad Boys 3 & 4’

Good news for you sequel/reboot fans around the world. Sony Pictures made some pretty huge announcements this week. They decided to set official theatrical release dates for the new Jumanji reboot, as well as Bad Boys 3 AND Bad Boys 4.

Jumanji will arrive inside theaters on December 25th, 2016. Details on the project are still hard to find, but we do know it will be a new take on the original film which was released back in 1995. As most of you know, Robin Williams was the star of the original film. It’s hard to imagine a Jumanji world without Williams in it, but we’ll see what the team behind this new version can do. Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) is reportedly writing the script.

In addition to the exciting Jumanji news, Sony also announced the release date for Bad Boys 3. The film won’t hit theaters until February 17th, 2017. We’re still not 100% sure if Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will return for the film, but it looks like the big reunion just might happen. A year ago, Lawrence talked about the film during an appearance on Conan.

“I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said its real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good.”

Plus, Sony seems to be confident in this sequel, because they already announced the release date for Bad Boys 4. It’s scheduled for a July 3rd, 2019, release date.

We will keep you posted on both projects as we learn more information.
