The Chris Pratt Comedy ‘The Black Belt’ Has Found Its Director

Chris Pratt made a name for himself on the sitcom ‘Parks & Rec’ and his comedy skills were off the charts. Even in the bloopers of the show, he was constantly slinging out hilarious one liners.

But after the show ended, Pratt kinda took a step back from straight comedy. He got super fit and became an action star. That’s kinda been his career for the past few years. Big budget action/superhero films.

Thankfully though, he’s coming back down to the indie comedy world with his latest project, The Black Belt.

The 2020 Black List script by Randall Green follows a shy, unassuming teen boy on a quest for an expertise in karate, and the unorthodox uncle who guides him along the way.

It was announced earlier this year that Pratt will star/produce the flick via his Indivisible Productions.

The search for a director has been going on for a while, and now finally they have landed on SNL director, Paul Briganti.

Briganti has directed some of the most viral segments and shorts over the past few seasons, including Melissa McCarthy as former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, Donald Glover in the rap video ‘Friendos,’ Brad Pitt as Dr. Anthony Fauci and David Harbour as ‘The Grouch’

In a statement to the press, Briganti expressed excitement in working with Pratt and the rest of the producing team.

I’m so excited to not only be working from a script that’s timeless and hilarious, but to be working with producers who are driven by outstanding storytelling. It feels odd though that they want me to direct a movie about an anxious nerd, because I was very cool and popular as a kid. No one fact checks these, right?

No word on when production is scheduled to begin, but we’ll keep you posted.

Watch Chris Pratt In First Official Trailer For Sci-Fi Blockbuster ‘The Tomorrow War’

There has been a lot of chatter surrounding the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster ‘The Tomorrow War‘ starring Chris Pratt.

Amazon reportedly dropped an insane $200 million for distribution rights for the movie, which is why people have so much interest in it.

Pratt stars in the movie as Dan Forester, a high school teacher (and military vet) who is recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war 30 years in the future.

In the movie, an alien species threatens life on Earth, and the only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet. Dan teams up with his estranged father, played by J.K. Simmons, and a brilliant scientist, portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, to rewrite the fate of mankind.

The flick was written by Zach Dean and directed by Chris McKay. In addition to the stars listed above, The Tomorrow War features Edwin Hodge, Sam Richardson and Betty Gilpin.

It’s set to hit theaters on July 2. Check out the trailer below…

The war may still be tomorrow, but the trailer is today. Amazon has finally dropped the first trailer for the Chris Pratt-starring sci-fi flick, The Tomorrow War.

This film is expected to be huge, at least that’s what movie theaters are hoping for. It’s supposed to be a summer blockbuster hit, with a release date on July 2.

The Tomorrow War stars Pratt as Dan Forester, a high school teacher who is recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war in the future.

As an alien species threatens life on Earth, the only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet.

Pratt will be joined by the super talented J.K. Simmons, Edwin Hodge and Betty Gilpin. The movie was written by Zach Dean and was directed by Chris McKay.

This is a movie Amazon reportedly paid $200 million for, so they’re also hoping it’s a huge hit. If this movie fails, it’s going to be a massive disappointment for a lot of people.

But it shouldn’t flop. The trailer looks pretty good. It has an excellent premise, a prime time actor in the lead role, and a great release date.

Chris Pratt’s Time-Travel Movie ‘The Tomorrow War’ Will Debut On Amazon This Summer

The wait for Chris Pratt’s upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘The Tomorrow War‘ is almost over.

It was announced this week that the Chris McKay-directed film will debut on Amazon Prime on July 2. The streaming platform reportedly paid $200 million for the rights to the film.

In ‘The Tomorrow War,’ the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future, mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight.

In addition to Pratt, this film stars Yvonne Strahovski and J.K. Simmons.

McKay made his directorial debut in 2017 with The Lego Batman Movie. He recently spoke about how proud he was of the team behind The Tomorrow War.

I’m so proud of this incredible cast and crew who worked under challenging circumstances to create a unique, original sci-fi action movie…something that’s increasingly rare. Watching this team of actors and artisans effortlessly blend action, horror, comedy, and drama was a dream come true for me…and I hope will thrill audiences this summer.

It certainly sounds like it has potential to be an entertaining flick. We’ll find out soon enough when it hits Amazon Prime in July.

Chris Pratt’s ‘The Tomorrow War’ Is About To Sell To Amazon For $200 Million

Paramount/Skydance teamed up with Chris Pratt and writer Zach Dean to create the sci-fi movie, The Tomorrow War.

The movie, which Pratt is also an executive producer on, follows a man who is “drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past.”

According to a recent report, the movie was just screened to the major streamers over the weekend and it played very well. Everyone seemed to have a positive reaction, but no streamer was more positive than Amazon, who apparently offered a $200 million deal.

The deal is not done, but it looks like it’s close. Amazon has been spending big bucks lately. They recently purchased Paramount’s Coming 2 America for a cool $125 million.

Deadline reports:

The Tomorrow War is original IP and to have a streamer launch it, especially as exhibition returns with strong-branded fare later in the year, could make sense as the best course of action. If it was a normal marketplace, The Tomorrow War, which tested very well, would stick to a theatrical plan. The pic was originally scheduled to be a Christmas tentpole and currently has a theatrical date of July 23, 2021.

We will keep you posted as more information is released, but it looks like Amazon is about to close on this deal.

Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana And Chris Pratt Show Strong Support For James Gunn After He Was Fired From ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

We left you last week by informing you that James Gunn had been removed from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3‘ after tweets he posted 10 years ago resurfaced. In the tweets, he joked about rape, 9/11, AIDS, and several other controversial subjects.

When the tweets went viral last week, Disney decided to remove him from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, which was quite shocking because he directed the original film and its sequel.

The stars of the franchise, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista appear to be putting their support behind Gunn.

Bautista was the first star to speak out. He sent out the tweet you see below on Friday…

Saldana and Pratt didn’t speak out until Sunday, and they weren’t quite as obvious with their support as Bautista, but it’s clear to see they still love and respect Gunn.

Another star from the franchise, Michael Rooker, took things to a new level. He announced that he was quitting Twitter because he’s tired of all the bullsh*t.

“This account will be inactive after today. We’re very tired & upset over the ongoing BULLS–T… neither I nor my rep will use Twitter again. Twitter sucks and I want nothing to do with it. Thank you to all who gave kind words & support. See you on Instagram.”

Damn. I guess that’s one way to show your frustration.

Good Guy Chris Pratt Highlights Hard Working Crew Members On Set Of ‘Jurassic World 2’ (VIDEO)

Chris Pratt, at one point, was one of Hollywood’s most adored actors. When he starred in Parks & Rec on NBC, he was extremely likable. But then he started to transition into a huge movie star, got a divorce from Anna Faris, and started to come off a bit douchey at times.

But thankfully, we’re now seeing the return of Good Guy Chris. The 38-year-old actor started a series called ‘Jurassic Journals‘ while filming ‘Jurassic World’ a few years ago. The series focused on the hard working crew on set of the film. The little guys who don’t get much attention, you know?

Pratt continued the series for Jurassic World 2 and you can view some of the videos below.

He talks to a make-up artist named Vivian Baker, an assistant script supervisor name Kelly Krieg and even an expert diver named Pete Harcourt. You can tell these people really enjoyed being recognized for their hard work. We spend so much time focusing on the actors/directors that we forget it truly takes a village to make a movie.

Well done, Pratt.

Chris Pratt Breaks Silence On Divorce With Anna Faris, Admits ‘Divorce Sucks’ In New Interview

In August of 2017, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris shocked the world by announcing they were getting a divorce. The couple always seemed so happy together and even had a 5-year-old son together, but unfortunately they couldn’t work it out.

Ever since news of the split was released, Pratt has refused to talk about it. Or maybe “refuse” is the wrong word. He’s been extremely busy lately working on what feels like every movie ever made, so he hasn’t had a lot of time to sit back and talk about the divorce.

But that finally changed recently during an interview in Entertainment Weekly’s Summer Movie Preview issue. In the interview, Pratt admits that divorce sucks, but it needed to happen.

“Divorce sucks. But at the end of the day, we’ve got a great kid who’s got two parents who love him very much. And we’re finding a way to navigate this while still remaining friends and still being kind to one another. It’s not ideal, but yeah, I think both of us are actually probably doing better.”

That’s all that matters. We don’t know their life. They could have been miserable together for a long time, and that’s not good for their kid. If they’re happier divorced, then more power to them. You have to know when to throw in the towel.

The First Trailer For ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Has Dropped, Watch The Action Inside!

The land of dinosaurs continue in the sequel to Jurassic World. The first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom premiered during Thursday Night Football, and now it has been released online for your viewing pleasure.

Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have returned to their roles as Owen and Claire, and you know who is also returning? Jeff Goldblum. That’s right, the OG Dr. Ian Malcolm.

So what will this sequel be about? We will let The Verge explain:

“The film is set after everyone escaped from the former theme park on Isla Nublar. The trailer opens with the park’s former manager, Claire Dearing (played by Bryce Dallas Howard), catching up with Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), who’s trying to convince him to come with her as she returns to the island. It seems that a volcano on the island has begun to erupt, and the dinosaurs that InGen brought to life are in danger of being wiped out.

Claire heads up a group dedicated to saving their creations, the Dinosaur Protection Group, and the plan seems to be to bring the dinosaurs off the island to safety.”

Well, that sounds like a lovely idea. The film is set to be released June 22, 2018, and you can bet it’ll make loads of money. Jurassic World brought home over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Chris Pratt’s ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Gets Summer 2019 Release Date, We Got The Details Inside!

Chris Pratt’s personal life might not be looking so hot right now, you know with the whole divorce thing, but his movie career continues to flourish.

Universal’s adaptation of Cowboy Ninja Viking is finally going to happen, and Chris Pratt will be in the lead role. It was announced this week that the movie will be released June 28, 2019, which is a great release date right before the July 4th holiday.

The film has been in development since 2014, and for a while it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. But all you fans of the graphic novel put out by Image Comics can rest easy knowing it’s a done deal now. Pratt will star as a “new kind of assassin” who manifests the most difficult skills of three different personas: cowboy, ninja and viking.

Pratt has a very healthy relationship with Universal right now. He’s been working with them on the Jurassic World movies for the past few years. By the way, the sequel to Jurassic World is scheduled to be released June 22, 2018.

So that means Pratt will most likely dominate the summer box office for several years. He dominated it earlier this summer with Guardians of the Galaxy 2, he dominated in 2015 and 2014 with Jurassic World and the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

And now he’s a lock for 2018 and 2019. Can you imagine how much money he has right now?
