‘Jackass Forever’ Success Leads To Paramount Developing New Series

Jackass Forever‘ was a pretty solid success at the box office. The movie made over $80 million, which is an outstanding total, thanks in large part to a low budget of $10 million.

Not only did the film make lots of cash, it also received rave reviews from critics and the general audience. Heck, I loved it. There were so many outrageously hilarious moments. It felt like the early 2000s again.

And now, thanks to the success of the film, Paramount is putting together a new ‘Jackass’ series.

Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we are working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+,

No details were provided. We don’t know if this would be a multiple episode type thing, or just a few special episodes… or even just a collection of shorts? We don’t know.

But it’s a huge win for the cast and crew of Jackass. Outside of Knoxville, those people kinda depend on the franchise to pay their bills, so the fact that Paramount might be hooking them up with consistent work is a good thing.

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.

‘Jackass Forever’ Dominates The Box Office With A Very Impressive Opening Weekend

After a depressing two years, the world needed a laugh, and ‘Jackass Forever’ delivered in a huge way. The fourth film in the ‘Jackass’ franchise was released this past weekend, and it made an impressive $23.5 million.

Most experts were expecting between $15-$20 million, so the fact that it brought in nearly $25 million is a huge win for Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the crew.

As we mentioned last week, the movie was made on a $10 million budget, so they’re already in the land of profit$.

Jackass Forever has been a (unexpected?) hit with critics, notching a solid 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and “B+” CinemaScore from audience members. Ticket buyers were overwhelmingly male at 68%, while 25% were over the age of 35 and 67% were between 18 and 34.

Meanwhile, ‘Moonfall‘, the other big studio film released last weekend made a paltry $10 million, which was on the lower end of projections. The movie was slammed by most critics, and it doesn’t look like the general audience really enjoyed it either.

The film was made on a budget of $140 million, so it’s highly unlikely they make their money back from this disaster.

Next weekend, ‘Death on the Nile‘, and the Jennifer Lopez rom-com ‘Marry Me’ hits theaters. We’ll see if they can take down Jackass Forever.

‘Jackass Forever’ Makes $1.65 Million In Thursday Night Preview, Setting Up For Solid Debut Weekend

There are big films back at the theater after a three-week drought, which means we can talk about box office earnings once again!

Paramount’s ‘Jackass Forever‘ had its Thursday night preview, debuting in over 2,600 theaters across the country. It made an impressive $1.65 million, which is higher than Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa ($1.4 million) and a little lower than the $2.5 million earned by Jackass 3D.

Experts believe the film could make around $15 million this weekend, which would be a solid number. And it would be enough to take the number one spot, ’cause the other big release this weekend, Moonfall, looks absolutely terrible. It made around $700k in its Thursday night previews.

Jackass Forever has been getting mostly positive reviews from critics, not that anyone really cares about reviews when it comes to Jackass movies. You’re just going for some quick laughs.

It’s possible Jackass Forever’s Thursday night haul could have been more impressive had it not been for a large winter storm that hit the midwest and south. Over 300 theaters were closed last night due to snow and sleet.

We’ll see how high Jackass Forever can get this weekend. It was reportedly made on a $10 million budget, so the movie should easily be profitable.

Watch The Final Trailer For ‘Jackass Forever’ One Month Before Its Release!

After being delayed a couple times, ‘Jackass Forever‘ is finally coming to a theater near you on February 4, 2022…at least we think. They could still push it back, but it’s getting late in the game now.

And to prove they’re still committed to the February release date, the studio released the final trailer.

This fourth film in the franchise features the return of Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville, Dave England, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Danger Ehren, and many more.

The trailer highlights the many dangerous stunts and pranks they engage in — involving everything from spiders to exploding port-a-potties — and at one point, Sean ‘Poopies’ McInerney promises to the camera, ‘This is gonna be the gnarliest s— ever.’

We have high hopes for this movie. Steve-O said on a recent podcast episode that outside of Jackass Two, this is without a doubt the best film they’ve ever made. And the trailers for the movie certainly look promising, so we’re going to take his word.

You’ll remember, ‘Jackass’ started out as a series on MTV in 2000 before getting a big-screen release in 2002. They released a second film in 2006, followed by a third one in 2010.

Check out the final trailer below. ‘Jackass Forever’ should hit theaters February 4, 2022.

Bam Margera Sues Johnny Knoxville, Paramount And Spike Jonze After ‘Jackass Forever’ Firing

For Bam Margera, ‘Jackass Forever’ was more like, ‘Jackass Occasionally‘ after he was fired from the movie last fall. He allegedly tested positive for Adderall, which violated the terms of a “wellness agreement” he signed with the producers of the film.

During this time, Margera started acting bizarrely on social media, which had everyone wondering if he relapsed once again. He was bad mouthing Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the ‘Jackass’ crew, even threatening to sue, and now it looks like he has delivered on his threat.

According to his lawsuit, Jonze, director Jeffrey Tremaine and Knoxville coerced him into signing the ‘wellness agreement’ while he was in rehab in 2019 and said that if he didn’t he would be excluded from ‘Jackass Forever.’ The suit claims that he signed the agreement without being given the chance to run it by an attorney. The agreement required regular drug and alcohol tests, as well as a prescription medication regime, according to the suit.

Bam claims the firing over Adderall is bullsh*t because he has been taking the prescription drug for 10 years now. He claims he has been victimized as a result of his mental health issues.

The lawsuit claims:

Paramount’s inhumane treatment of Margera cannot be countenanced. Margera was made to endure psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement, and then ultimately terminated for his protected class status due to his medical condition, and his complaints about Defendants’ discriminatory conduct towards him.

Back in May, during an interview with GQ, Knoxville said he wasn’t interested in getting into a public back-and-forth with Bam. “I just want him to get better,” he said.

We’ll see what happens with the lawsuit. Can’t imagine Bam getting anything if he signed a contract. Also, his erratic behavior on social media probably won’t help his case.
