Vince Vaughn’s Body Swap Horror Film ‘Freaky’ Grabs Top Spot At Box Office

Even though cases are surging across the country (or really, across the world) movies are still being released inside theaters.

One of the latest films to be released? Freaky, the body-swap horror film starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton. The film received fairly positive reviews from critics, which probably helped bring it to the top spot at the box office.

The movie played on over 2,400 screens across the country and made $3.7 million over the weekend. It made a total of $5.6 million worldwide.

Obviously these would be terrible numbers in normal times, but during a raging pandemic? It’s not so bad, especially considering the film only cost $6 million to make.

Analyst David Gross says it’s going to be very profitable…

It’s going to be very profitable. With the pandemic surging and additional U.S. theaters closing, this is a good opening.

For those who don’t know, the movie follows a serial killer and a high school teen who switch bodies on Friday the 13th. It’s a pretty neat concept and it looks like a lot of fun.

Vince Vaughn Confirms That A ‘Wedding Crashers’ Sequel Is In Development With Owen Wilson

In 2005, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn teamed up for the raunchy comedy ‘Wedding Crashers‘ and it was a huge hit. It made nearly $300 million at the box office and is still loved to this day.

Now Vince Vaughn is teasing us with news of a potential sequel. The 50-year-old actor talked to Entertainment Tonight recently, and he suggested that a sequel is in development.

Owen and I and the director of Crashers have been talking for the first time seriously [about] a sequel to that movie. There has been an idea that is pretty good. So we are talking about that in the early stages.

They were fun movies to make. It’s always fun to make people laugh and go to work with people that are funny.

As he mentions though, they’re still in the early stages. It sounds like maybe they have a treatment right now, but not an actual script.

So it’ll be interesting to see if they actually continue with this, or if it kinda fades away, which does happen often with movies in Hollywood.

That being said, the studio will be interested in this because a lot of people love this movie and they would come out to watch a sequel.

Check Out The First Poster For Clark Duke’s Directorial Debut ‘Arkansas’ Featuring Vince Vaughn And John Malkovich

You may remember Clark Duke as Michael Cera’s best friend. Or maybe you remember him from the late season episodes of ‘The Office‘ or maybe you saw him in the recent ‘Veronica Mars‘ reboot.

The dude has been around for a while, and this year, he’ll be making his directorial debut with the crime drama, Arkansas.

The film will debut at the upcoming SXSW Film Festival in March in Austin. According to the reports, Arkansas “explores the criminal underworld of the Deep South in the 80s.”

Duke and Liam Hemsworth star as two drug runners in the Dixie Mafia who are forced to interact with a drug kingpin (played by Vince Vaughn) when a deal goes wrong.

In addition to the names listed above, this movie stars John Malkovich, Vivica A. Fox, and Michael Kenneth Williams.

No word on an official release date for this flick, but we’ll keep you posted. Here’s to hoping the reviews out of SXSW are positive!

Vince Vaughn And Sharon Horgan Set To Star In Romantic Comedy Film ‘The Last Drop’

The romantic comedy genre is making a comeback, thanks to streaming services giving them another chance. Netflix has become the queen of romantic comedies lately, and now major studios are trying to cash in as well.

It was announced this week that Vince Vaughn and Sharon Horgan are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy, The Last Drop.

Written by Brandon Murphy, Phillip Murphy, and Elizabeth Chomko (“What They Had”), follows culinary show host Clay Mason (Vaughn), a charming bon vivant whose endless meals and long nights of drinking have brought his career to a tipping point. Just as his debilitating lifestyle begins to unwind his career, he crosses paths with Holly (Horgan), a spirited antiques dealer who sees through Clay’s bravado and helps him find the strength to pull out of his tailspin.

Christopher Storer is directing the film. He has a long history of directing stand-up specials for several comedians. He also directed a few episodes of ‘Ramy‘ and produced Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade‘ film.

I’m secretly a huge Vince Vaughn fan, so I’m excited to see this movie. Storer seems to have a good handle on comedy, so I think this project has great potential.

No word on a release date, but we’ll keep you posted.

Watch Trailer For ‘Fighting With My Family’ Featuring The Rock And Vince Vaughn

What? Another movie with Dwayne Johnson? Yes…are you surprised? Johnson is one of the highlights in the first trailer for the wrestling flick, Fighting With My Family.

The movie, which was written/directed by the incredibly talented Stephen Merchant, is based on a true story about a family of wrestling fanatics who want to get their kids into professional wrestling.

Nick Frost, Lena Headey, Florence Pugh, Jack Lowden and Vince Vaughn star in the movie. This trailer looks pretty funny. They even throw in a Vin Diesel joke, which is especially hilarious considering he’s got beef with The Rock.

Fighting With My Family is set to hit theaters February 22, 2019. Check out the trailer below…

The Cast Of ‘Dodgeball’ Reunite For Hilarious Omaze Charity Video, Watch It Inside And Find Out How You Can Play Dodgeball With Ben Stiller

Thankfully, the cast of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story have refrained from making a sequel. It would have been easy to do, but they decided to let the original film speak for itself.

The 2004 comedy surprised everyone by being a huge hit at the box office. It earned $167 million worldwide on a budget that was less than $25 million. For those who don’t remember, the film starred Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Justin Long.

On Wednesday morning, Stiller gave fans of the movie a great surprise. In a new charity campaign video powered by Omaze, Stiller transformed back into Globo Gym chief White Goodman to invite viewers to team up with him in this new contest. He was joined in the video by Vaughn and Long, to represent the Average Joe’s.

The video urges fans to pick a side in this battle by signing up on Omaze’s website for a chance to play a game of dodgeball with Stiller. Proceeds from the contest will go to the Stiller Foundation, which supports education initiatives for children.

To promote the campaign, Stiller agreed to do an interview with Entertainment Weekly, and during the interview, he was asked what he remembers most about making the movie 13 years ago…

“I remember having a lot of fun making the movie. It was so ridiculous when we were doing it, I remember doing scenes where I was feeling kind of embarrassed because I thought it’s so ridiculous, and the movie was not necessarily a guaranteed success. In terms of like moments that I remember, I remember Chuck Norris being there and that being very exciting. I remember he came in on a chopper – you’d probably expect nothing less. I remember doing the dodgeball scenes themselves, that being very involved.”

Mel Gibson And Vince Vaughn Will Star In A Film About Police Brutality, And It Sounds Like They Might Be Defending It?

I like Vince Vaughn. He seems like a decent guy. He is funny, his “I can’t believe this sh-t” face is one of the best in Hollywood, he’s great at improv, and he starred in Swingers.

But his strengthening friendship with Mel Gibson is starting to concern me. Vaughn had a supporting role in Gibson’s latest film, Hacksaw Ridge, which is cool. He wants to take some more serious roles and Gibson is giving him a chance? We can’t hate on that.

However, we can hate on their next project together. According to Variety, Vaughn and Gibson have signed on to star in Dragged Across Concrete. It’s described as a crime thriller about police brutality.

And that sounds interesting, right? Gibson wouldn’t be our first choice to address the issues surrounding the police in America, but we’d be willing to give him a chance.

It’s just, the synopsis makes it sound like they are trying to claim police brutality is a necessary evil, which is absolutely ridiculous if that’s the case.

“Gibson and Vaughn will play cops who are suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics gets wide attention. They then descend into the criminal underworld to exact vengeance.”

We can’t denounce the film yet, but we’re not sure how big of an audience a pro-police brutality film will have. But Donald Trump is our president now, so I guess anything is possible.

Tell A Friend, Wedding Crashers 2 Is In Development…Get The Details Inside!

Sequels are so hot right now. It doesn’t matter how old the original film is. No movie is safe. It’s been over 10 years since Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson delighted us with the hilarious Wedding Crashers. It was a massive hit, and probably the highlight of Wilson’s career.

As far as we know, no one has really been begging for a sequel, but that’s not going to stop Hollywood from making one.

Isla Fisher co-starred in the movie, and she has been doing a lot of interviews lately promoting her new film Nocturnal Animals. And during one of the interviews with the Today show, the actress talked about seeing Vaughn at a party recently.

“I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we’re going to be making a sequel. So I’m really excited to see what’s happened to Gloria.”

She then later admitted that there was no “deal” in place, and she probably shouldn’t have mentioned it already. But still, if Vaughn is going around talking about it at parties, there is a decent chance it’s going to happen.

It’s almost like he’s trying to bring the crew back together like in D2: The Mighty Ducks:
