Yes, They Made A Movie About Those Pop-Up ‘Spirit Halloween’ Stores

You know when September comes around and you notice that the old Best Buy across town has turned into a Spirit Halloween store basically overnight? That’s when you know Halloween is near.

The Spirit Halloween pop-up stores have become a meme on the internet, and now they’re getting the movie treatment.

The iconic costume/prop store, which boasts nearly 1,500 locations across the country, has teamed up with an independent film studio to create a feature-length family movie titled Spirit Halloween.

According to the reports, this movie has already been filmed, and it stars Christopher Lloyd and Rachel Leigh Cook.

When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.

As mentioned above, filming has wrapped, so they’re currently in post-production, with a planned release date this October.

Honestly, I’m excited. It’ll probably be super corny, but still… IT’S SPIRIT HALLOWEEN! AND CHRISTOPHER LLOYD! How can you not be at least a little excited?
