Even though Sylvester Stallone is 73-years-old, he’s still in pretty good shape. Good enough shape to play a superhero in the upcoming film, Samaritan.
The film, which was directed by Julius Avery, follows a young boy who is on a journey to discover if a mythic superhero, who vanished 20 years ago following a tragic event, is still alive.
Avery talked to Total Film about how incredible Stallone is…
This is a big event movie – we see our heroes kicking ass. We’re going to see Sly do things he hasn’t done in a long time, and in a really inventive way. He’s 73 years old! I’m amazed by how much he actually does. I’m telling you, most guys in their twenties wouldn’t be able to do what Sly does in this movie.
We believe you. Stallone is one of a kind. There is no doubt about that.
Avery has also confirmed that this will be a grounded superhero flick, so if you’re looking for something that resembles the Marvel universe, this probably won’t be it.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in June. Hopefully a trailer is released soon.
