Pixar Releases New Poster For Upcoming Film ‘Luca’

While most studios are solely focused on sequels/remakes, Pixar has been out here taking chances. After the release of Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 in 2018/2019, the studio has been focused on original material.

They released Onward and Soul in 2020, both original films. And their next feature, Luca, is also an original idea.

The original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface.

This film was directed by Enrico Casarosa, and he told reporters that this story is deeply personal for him, because he’s also a sea monster from another world.

No, really. It’s a personal story for him because it’s set in the Italian Riviera, where he grew up.

This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become and it is those bonds that are at the heart of our story in Luca.

Pixar just released the new poster you see below for the film. It’s currently scheduled to be released on June 18. It’s not clear if it’ll be released on Disney+ or theaters…or both.

Check Out The First Poster For Tom Holland’s Upcoming Film ‘Cherry’

Ciara Bravo stars as Holland’s character’s wife, who also becomes an addict. The young couple begin robbing banks into to fund their drug habit.

The impressive cast list includes Bill Skarsgård, Jack Reynor and Forrest Goodluck.

In an interview a few weeks back, the Russo brothers talked about how personal this story is for them..

We have a lot of people in our family that have either passed on or died from the crisis, or are struggling with their current addiction.

This is a movie that’s supposed to define the experience of having PTSD, the experience of being addicted to opioids.

Below, you can find the poster, which has people a little confused, considering you can’t really make out that it says “cherry” at the bottom.

In any event, the movie will hit select theaters in February and then be released on Apple TV+ on March 12.

Check Out New Avengers Inspired Poster For Upcoming ‘Jay and Silent Bob’ Reboot

Kevin Smith is one of the most talented filmmakers of our time. He might be under your radar, but he shouldn’t be. We nearly lost him to a heart attack back in 2018, but thankfully doctors were able to save his life.

Since the health scare, Smith has dropped a considerable amount of weight and is currently thriving on a vegan diet.

And now that he’s feeling better, he’s ready to get back to work. The writer/director just released a new Avengers: Endgame-inspired poster for his upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

He also shared an exclusive clip from the film.

The stoner icons who first hit the screen 25 years ago in CLERKS are back!  When Jay and Silent Bob discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them, the clueless duo embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again!

This film is expected to hit theaters October 15, 2019, and yes…the whole cast returned for this reboot, including Jason Mewes, Jason Lee and Shannon Elizabeth.

New Poster For ‘Child’s Play’ Appears To Show Toy Story’s Woody Being Murdered By Chucky

Movie posters are typically hit-or-miss, and lately it feels like there have been a lot of misses.

But we finally got a hit this week, thanks to the brilliant marketing team behind the Chucky reboot film, Child’s Play. They released a poster on their social media accounts on Tuesday and it appears to show Chucky walking out of the frame, leaving behind a doll that looks a lot like Woody from Toy Story.

Check out the poster for Toy Story 4 and the new poster for Child’s Play side-by-side…

As you can see, the only thing they changed was Woody’s shirt color, most likely because they wanted to avoid a potential lawsuit from Disney.

It’s a brilliant idea for a poster, and honestly it kinda makes me want some weird Toy Story/Child’s Play crossover film. Obviously that’s never going to happen though.

Child’s Play hits theaters June 21…the same day as Toy Story 4.

Director Todd Phillips Shares New Poster For Upcoming ‘Joker’ Film

April Fools’ Day was yesterday, but the jokers are coming out today. Director Todd Phillips delighted fans on Tuesday by releasing a new poster for the upcoming ‘Joker’ movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Pretty great, right? After a string of horrible movie posters, Hollywood is starting to get it right.

The poster is both creepy and almost inspiring at the same time. In addition to Phoenix, Joker will also star Zazie Beets, Bill Camp, Marc Maron, and Frances Conroy.

Check back tomorrow for the trailer. Joker is set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
