The First Photo From The Set Of New ‘Jumanji’ Film Has Been Released, Featuring The Rock, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan And Jack Black!

This new Jumanji movie (which is not a reboot, according to The Rock) is happening, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Honestly. It’s too late now. They have officially started filming the disaster in Hawaii.

Kevin Hart jumped on his Instagram account earlier this week to share one of the first photos from the set. Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and Jack Black join him in the photo.

He captioned the photo:

“Day 1 of shooting ‘Jumanji’ is officially in the can. We had a amazing first day. The chemistry & energy of our cast & crew was beyond amazing!!!! This movie is going to be dope as hell….Can’t wait to get back to work tomorrow @therock @karengillanofficial & jack black!!! #Jumanji”

We would love to believe him when he promises this movie is going to be “dope” as hell, but he also said similar things while filming Get Hard and The Wedding Ringer.

And as Mr. Bush would say…

If you’re interested, Johnson revealed their character names. He will be playing Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Hart will be playing Moose Finbar, Gillan is playing Ruby Roundhouse and Black is playing Professor Shelly Oberon.

Hopefully at least two of these characters are just ordinary people who get caught up in the madness of the Jumanji world, because that’s one of the reasons the original film worked so well. It’s likely that the cast is split. If I had to guess, I’d say the Rock’s character and Gillan’s character are actual characters from the Jumanji game itself, which would explain how the film plans to reference Robin Williams’ character from the first movie.

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released. Hart and Johnson are big on social media, so we should expect to see more photos from the set soon. The film is scheduled to be released July 28, 2017.

Wait, What? A Former Member Of The ‘Jonas Brothers’ Is In Talks To Join Jumanji Remake

jum

We know Dwayne Johnson (and most likely Kevin Hart and Jack Black) will star in the upcoming remake of Jumanji. None of those names really surprise you. If you were creating your own Jumanji remake in your head, you’d probably have at least one of those actors in the film.

But would the name Nick Jonas even cross you mind? Probably not. According to multiple reports, the 23-year-old singer/actor is in talks to join the Jumanji cast. We know Nick can act from his surprising role in the MMA drama Kingdom, so we’re certainly not trying to suggest he’s not a good actor. It’s just a little hard to see where he might fit in with a cast that already includes Hart, Black and Johnson.

Obviously details are limited at the moment. The report doesn’t offer any hints at how big his role might be, and we must remember the deal hasn’t been locked down yet. The main thing holding it up right now is Nick’s busy schedule. If Nick is serious about building his acting career, then this opportunity doesn’t sound like something he can afford to skip.

Even if this remake is dog poop compared to the original film, it’s still going to be successful at the box office. As we are continuously being reminded, Hollywood is not making these remakes for the original fans. It’s all about building a new franchise for a younger audience.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters July 28, 2017. More details will be coming soon. We’ll keep you posted.

Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Might Star Together In ‘Jumanji’ Remake!

This is interesting. According to a new report from Variety, two of the biggest stars in Hollywood are looking to team up again for a remake of the Robin Williams classic, Jumanji.

Both Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are extremely interested in this project, and it looks like the only thing standing in their way is their busy schedules. As mentioned above, they are two of the hottest starts right now, which means they are trying to juggle several projects.

But thanks to Johnson’s Rampage film being pushed back to 2017, the actor has an opening this fall before he starts filming the third season of his show on HBO. Hart will start work on The Intouchables remake late this summer, and Variety reports “working out this part of the schedule could prove difficult.”

In addition to working out the schedule, some sources believe Sony wants to wait to see how Johnson and Hart’s upcoming comedy Central Intelligence performs at the box office. If it’s a flop, then it might make the studio’s decision more difficult. It’s hard to see the film not bringing in a lot of money though. People loved Hart and Johnson during the MTV Movie Awards, you can bet they’re going to love them in June when the film is released.

Well keep you posted, but right now things are looking good. The Jumanji remake will hit theaters July 28, 2017. Hopefully Hart and Johnson will be in it.
