Chris Tucker Says ‘Rush Hour 4’ Is Definitely Happening, Get The Details Inside!

Well, well, well…it looks another sequel will be coming your way soon. Comedian/actor Chris Tucker was on ESPN’s podcast The Plug the other day, and he was all jazzed about filming Rush Hour 4.

He said, “It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it,” which scares me a bit because he’s starting to sound like Vin Diesel, but we will let it slide this time.

For what it’s worth, we know Jackie Chan is ready to return as well. Last year, he revealed to Power 106 that he had been turning down potential scripts for the sequel for years, but then last year the right one landed on his desk.

“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed… the script, probably end of this month. They’re on the second draft. Next year, probably start. I hope. If Chris Tucker agrees.”

The first Rush Hour film was released back in 1998, the second film in 2001 and the third in 2007. In total, the first three films earned over $850 million worldwide at the box office.

If this fourth film gets made, it could push the franchise over the $1 billion mark.

Rush Hour 4 Will Be Coming Soon, And Yes Jackie Chan And Chris Tucker Will Return!

The first ‘Rush Hour‘ film hit theaters back in 1998. That’s nearly 20 years ago, if you can believe that. The second film in the franchise was released in 2001, and the third installment hit theaters in 2007. It’s been 10 years since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker hit the big screen together.

And now it looks like they’re ready to reunite at least one more time for Rush Hour 4. During a radio interview on Thursday, Chan teased that the fourth film is in the works. Apparently, both he and Tucker had been turning down potential scripts for the fourth film for several years, but here recently they finally got one they liked.

“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed. The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft, and next year, probably [we will] start. I hope — if Chris Tucker agrees.”

That’s right, folks. Filming could begin as early as 2018, which means a release date in 2019 or 2020 is likely. Brett Ratner has directed all three Rush Hour movies, so it’s likely he will return for this fourth one. We know he’s also going to direct a Hugh Hefner biopic, but we’re sure he’ll find time for both projects.

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released.
