Regina Hall, Amy Schumer And Wanda Sykes Set To Host The Oscars

After three years of no hosts at the Oscars, the Academy Awards have decided to flip the script by giving us THREE hosts this year.

It was announced on Monday that Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall will host the Oscars on March 27, 2022. The ceremony will be produced by ‘Girls Trip’ producer Will Packer.

Packer released the following statement:

This year’s show is all about uniting movie lovers. It’s apropos that we’ve lined up three of the most dynamic, hilarious women with very different comedic styles. I know the fun Regina, Amy and Wanda will be having will translate to our audience as well. Many surprises in store!  Expect the unexpected!

This is the first time the show will feature three hosts since 1987, when Chevy Chase, Paul Hogan and Goldie Hawn hosted the ceremony. It will be the first female trio to host ever.

Schumer said in a statement…

I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea but I am hosting the Oscars, along with my good friend Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. I better go watch some movies.

We’ll see what they can come up with. Can they bring back fun to the Oscars?

Critics Are Slamming Amy Schumer’s New Movie With Goldie Hawn, Check Out What They’re Saying Inside!

Oh, Goldie. What happened? Goldie Hawn hasn’t been in a movie since 2002. That’s a long time, you know? And she has decided to make her grand return with Amy Schumer?

Snatched hits theaters this weekend, but you probably don’t want to watch it. It looks like your typical Amy Schumer comedy, which is depressing because it shows she hasn’t grown at all. Imagine if Jonah Hill was still playing his same character from Superbad. That’s where Amy is at right now.

And it’s a shame she dragged Hawn into her pool of unnecessary raunchiness. Critics are slamming this film, and it’s clear they are tired of Schumer’s act.

Time Out’s Tom Huddleston had this to say about Schumer…

“Can Amy Schumer play something other than a directionless, oversexed thirtysomething who drinks too much but learns a few valuable life lessons before the credits roll? Um, no.”

Amy Rowe, from the New York Daily News, wrote this in her review:

“Amy Schumer ‘Snatched’ up Goldie Hawn, an Oscar winner who hasn’t made a movie in 15 years, to costar in her new comedy. Hawn deserves better, and so do audiences who are likely to find themselves losing interest in the kidnapping movie’s runaway plot. A few jokes the writers trot out also seem slightly recycled, or maybe just stale.”

And then you have this line from Business Insider’s Jason Guerrasio

“The movie, opening Friday, has such a dull and unoriginal story that even two comedy pros like Schumer and Hawn can’t salvage it.”

Amy Schumer Reveals She Will No Longer Star In The ‘Barbie’ Movie, Find Out Why Inside

Back in December of 2016 it was announced that Amy Schumer would star in the upcoming live-action Barbie movie. The film is reportedly about how she gets kicked out of Barbieland and is forced to survive out in the real world.

In addition to starring in the film, Schumer was expected to rewrite the script as well, but now it looks like none of that will be happening.

In a statement released on Thursday, Schumer revealed she would no longer be working on the Barbie movie.

“Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts. The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen.”

A spokesperson for Sony also released a statement on the surprising news. In the statement, Sony wished Amy all the best, said they are still moving forward with the movie, and promised updates on casting would be coming soon.

The film was expected to be released in Summer 2018. We’re not sure if that’s still going to happen or not. This shouldn’t set them back too much, though. It won’t be hard to find another actress willing to play a live-action version of Barbie.

Meanwhile, Schumer’s busy schedule includes filming a new movie with Steve Carell and promoting her upcoming comedy with Goldie Hawn in May.

The Red-Band Trailer For Amy Schumer’s New Comedy Film ‘Snatched’ Has Arrived, Check Out The Dirty Jokes Inside!

If you see a movie that says “starring Amy Schumer,” you should know what to expect. It’s going to be filled with inappropriate jokes and self-deprecating humor. That’s her style, and it seems to be working for her, considering her last film Trainwreck brought in over $140 million at the box office.

Schumer is back on the big screen again, and she’s playing Goldie Hawn’s daughter. Snatched is a story following a mother and daughter on their disastrous trip to South America.

In addition to Schumer and Hawn, the film will also star John Cusack, Wanda Sykes and Ike Barinholtz. Katie Dippold is the writer behind the script, and her name might sound familiar to you. She wrote The Heat, Ghostbusters and several episodes of Parks & Rec.

From the trailer, it doesn’t look like this movie will be anything special. Nothing that will change the comedy game, but it may be an entertaining way to spend a lonely Saturday night.

Check out the NSFW trailer below. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on Mother’s Day weekend. That’s May 12, for you horrible children out there.

Jennifer Lawrence Finally Gives Us Some Details About The Movie She’s Writing With Amy Schumer

Did you know Jennifer Lawrence has a pretty huge movie coming out later this month? The last film in The Hunger Games franchise will be released on Nov. 20, and the actress is currently super busy promoting the movie.

But she never seems too busy to discuss her friendship with Amy Schumer. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lawrence seemed excited to take a break from promoting The Hunger Games to discuss the movie she’s writing with Amy.

She revealed some important details about the movie, saying that it’s Amy’s character who has “it” together in this film.

“Amy, in this movie, she has it very together. It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. And I’m a MESS.”

Lawrence also confirmed that the script is dirty, real and hilarious. And when she was asked if her Hunger Games co-stars, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, would make a special appearance in the movie, she replied with, “No, no, no, no, no …There’s not really boys in it.”

And while discussing how she became best friends with Amy, she admitted she’s not sure what their movie will end up being rated.

“We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously and aren’t afraid, which is a good and bad thing, because I don’t know what our movie will be rated. And we’re both very blunt. So we’ve gotten through a really strenuous process without ever fighting, because we’re both very straightforward.”

Sounds like it’s going to be great. I’ll buy a ticket right now. Just one…because I’m lonely and poor.

‘Kingsman 2’ Gets Official 2017 Release Date, Details Inside!

Even though the first film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, was ridiculously successful at the box office (taking home over $400 million worldwide) a sequel to the film wasn’t confirmed right away. The director of the film, Matthew Vaughn, expressed interest in a sequel; however, his name was also linked to several other projects.

There were also rumors of an argument between 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate over Taron Egerton, who will presumably play a big part in the sequel.

But it looks like everything is settled now. Kingsman 2 has an official release date: June 16, 2017. Principal photography will begin in April of 2016, which means Egerton’s Robin Hood project will be pushed back a few months.

It’s hard to talk about who else they might bring back for the sequel without spoiling the movie for those who haven’t watched it, so we’ll leave that discussion for another day. Right now, fans should celebrate this news.

The only other movie scheduled for a June 16, 2017 release is Cars 3, which shouldn’t an issue for either film. If everything stays the same, Kingsman 2 will have a lovely opening weekend at the box office. By the way, 20th Century Fox also revealed the release date for the upcoming Amy Schumer Mother/Daughter comedy. It’s scheduled to hit theaters May 12, 2017.

Wait, What? Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer Are Writing A Screenplay Together?

After a week filled with terrible news, Jennifer Lawrence has saved the day once again. On Wednesday, the 25-year-old actress/professional Cher impersonator, talked with a reporter about the final film in the Hunger Games franchise.

But as we all know, Lawrence has a hard time focusing on just one subject. She started to talk about a comedy screenplay she is currently writing with Trainwreck star Amy Schumer. “We play sisters. We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.” She told the reporter.

So how did this happen? Well, we’re just going to let Jennifer explain…

“Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing ‘Trainwreck.’”

I’m sold. I know nothing about this movie, but I’ve always wanted to see Lawrence star in a pure comedy. And Schumer is one of the biggest comedy stars on the planet right now. How could this movie not be the most incredible thing ever?

Sure, it’s still early. The screenplay isn’t finished, there are no directors or production companies attached to the project right now, but that’s obviously going to change. Hollywood cares about one thing: money. And with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer starring, this movie is going to make a lot of money.

We’ll keep you posted.

Movie Review: Trainwreck (2015) – A Rom-com Without Sap; I Didn’t Think It Was Possible

There is a reason that I hate most romantic comedies. It’s not because of the lack of realism in the plot. I can pretty much enjoy anything that requires a leap of the imagination. Nope, it’s because there’s never a character I can identify with. The girl is always this Type A, high strung ball breaking business women who never had time to settle down because of her career.

Note to movie writers, some of us aren’t in relationships and it has nothing to do with our careers. Some of us are just incredibly immature bed hopping binge drinkers. I can’t identify with some Type A nutjob. That’s why I don’t like romantic comedies and that’s why I loved Trainwreck. Finally, there is a character that represents us. For the first time, I didn’t just like a romantic comedy. I loved a romantic comedy. For that, I thank Amy Schumer.

Trainwreck starts out with young Amy learning all about the dangers of monogamy from her father, who explains it by asking Amy “What if I told you this was the only doll you could ever play with for the rest of your life?” Drilled that monogamy is a bad thing, Amy lives on one night stands and drunken benders. That is until she meets a cute, almost virginal doctor in the course of her job as a magazine writer. Then starts Amy trying to grow up and settle down.

It’s a paint by numbers rom-com but what made it shine is the edge. That edge comes in the form of Amy Schumer and some seriously biting sarcasm and humor. There are so many laugh out loud moments. They’re able to keep it rude without going too crude, and it sucks any overly sappy sweetness right out of the movie.

Trainwreck-LeBron-James-Bill-Hader -25JUL2015

trainwreck-movie-review - 25JUL2015

A rom-com without sap. I didn’t think it was possible. I think it probably has something to do with some of the most flawless casting I’ve ever seen.

Colin Quinn was a stroke of genius as the belligerent, commitment probe dad. While I have never once thought of Bill Hader as a romantic lead, it this movie he just plain shines. While some thought the movie was too cameo heavy, I found that they managed to fit in the cameos pretty seamlessly.

Especially the movie long cameo for LeBron James. He plays Hader’s best friend and he’s pretty good. A lot of that was smart writing. They knew to not give James more than he could handle, and he handled it well. You never forget he’s LeBron James, but I imagine that’s probably what being LeBron James’s best friend is like anyway.

But the big star in this one is Amy Schumer. She is just plain fantastic in this movie and I think it might be her breakthrough. This girl is about to go from being a cable cult following, to a big name star. They didn’t change her up too much from her personality on “Inside Amy Schumer” but it still worked for a romantic comedy.

Trainwreck was very well written and even better cast. If you like Amy Schumer, and even if you hate romantic comedies, this one is worth the watch.

This Special ‘Trainwreck’ Improv Clip With John Cena Shows Why You Need This Movie In Your Life

If you only have money to see one movie this weekend, you are going to have a difficult time trying to decide which film to see. You have Marvel’s Ant-Man and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck. Both movies are performing well on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ant-Man has a respectable 78%; however, Trainwreck has a fantastic 90%. As I am writing this, it has 44 fresh reviews and only 4 rotten reviews. The people who have seen this movie claim it’s one of the funniest comedies this year, and with the two leads being played by Bill Hader and Amy Schumer? I believe the early reviews.

And honestly, I need a little break from comic book movies, so I had already planned to watch Trainwreck this weekend. But I understand there are some people still on the fence. They need a little something extra to convince them.

We have that something extra. The video you see below is a special Trainwreck clip with John Cena and Amy Schumer arguing with another couple inside a movie theater.

John Cena is hilarious. Even Judd Apatow was impressed, saying, “[John Cena] said some of the strangest things I’ve ever heard.”

Check out the strangeness in the hilarious video below…
