We all know Adam Sandler loves basketball, and now he’s finally getting to star in a movie all about the sport.
Netflix just released the first teaser trailer for ‘Hustle‘ an upcoming basketball flick starring Sandler as a washed up basketball scout.
He discovers a star athlete (Juancho Hernangómez) with a rocky past on the street ball courts of Spain. Back in the U.S., the pair struggle against all odds to prove that they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
The movie was actually produced by LeBron James, so that’s pretty cool. And Sandler’s co-star, Juancho, was an NBA player himself, so there should be no shortage of insider tips.
In addition to Sandler and Juancho, Hustle will co-star Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, Kenny Smith and Robert Duvall.
Jeremiah Zagar directed the flick based on a script by Taylor Materne and Will Fetters. It’s set to hit the streaming giant on June 10. It’s rare for Netflix to release a trailer so far in advance. Typically, they drop trailers two or three weeks before they release a film.
But I suppose with Sandler films, they want more time to promote. Check out the trailer below…
