Watch The Brand New Trailer For Horror-Comedy ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’

The upcoming A24 slasher flick, Bodies Bodies Bodies, is set to hit select theaters on August 5, 2022, and if it happens to be in your local theater, you should definitely check it out.

The film, which was directed by Halina Reijn, has received glowing reviews from critics who screened the film earlier this year at the SXSW festival. Everyone has described it as wildly entertaining.

When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.

Bodies Bodies Bodies stars Pete Davidson, Amandla Stenberg, Lee Pace, Maria Bakalova and Rachel Sennott.

Meagan Navarro, who writes for Bloody Disgusting, had this to say about the movie:

The deaths are brutal and bloody but somehow not nearly as savage as the cattiness amongst this group. The cast is more than up to the task of this bizarre and engaging but deadly social experiment. All play deeply flawed characters with varying degrees of rooting interest. But it’s Sennott’s abrasively blunt Alice that steals the entire film.

Sebastian Stan And Renate Reinsve Set To Star In A24 Thriller ‘A Different Man’

Sebastian Stan is a hot actor in Hollywood currently, thanks in large part to the recent success of the thriller/horror, Fresh, which was released on Hulu back in January of this year. The movie was well-received by critics and the general audience.

He also recently starred in the Hulu limited series, Pam & Tommy, which earned him rave reviews.

And now, he’s taking his skills to A24. It was announced this week that he’s set to star alongside Renate Reinsve in the upcoming psychological thriller, A Different Man.

The film follows Edward, an outcast who is seeking a new life and fresh start. After he undergoes facial reconstructive surgery, he becomes fixated on a man starring as him in a stage production based on his former life.

The movie is being written/directed by Aaron Schimberg, who previously directed the micro budget film, Chained for Life, back in 2018.

Production on ‘A Different Man’ is expected to begin in July, which means a release date in 2023 feels like a safe bet.

As always, we’ll keep you posted.

Zac Efron Is Set To Star In Upcoming A24 Film ‘The Iron Claw’

Damn. Zac Efron is making moves! Earlier this week, it was announced that he’d be starring in an upcoming untitled Netflix rom-com alongside Nicole Kidman and Joey King.

And now, just two days later, we’re learning he’s set to star in another movie, this one coming from A24. He just signed on to star in ‘The Iron Claw’ from writer-director Sean Durkin.

Based on the true story of the Von Erichs, the film follows the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.

Durkin’s previous film, The Nest, which featured Jude Law and Carrie Coon, performed well with critics, scoring a solid 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

A24 will produce and finance this flick, with Durkin on writing and directing duty. This could be a career-changing opportunity for Efron. He hasn’t received a lot of dramatic roles. It’s mostly been comedies/rom-coms, or maybe slightly dramatic roles in family films.

So this is a huge deal for Efron, and if he nails the performance, it might be a brand new career for him.

No word on when this movie is expected to be released, but we’re assuming it’ll find a place in theaters sometime in 2023. We’ll keep you posted.

Pete Davidson Set To Star Alongside Naomi Scott In Upcoming A24 Film ‘Wizards!’

Pete Davidson continues to be a hot choice in Hollywod, thanks in large part to the press he’s receiving for his very public relationship with Kim Kardashian.

He’s already filmed a couple movies this past year, and now he’s set to start work on another one. It was announced this week that Davidson will star alongside Naomi Scott, Franz Rogowski and Sean Harris in the upcoming film ‘Wizards!’ from Australian filmmaker, David Michod.

The film follows two hapless pothead beach-bar operators (Davidson and Rogowski) who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone.

Michod wrote the script based on a story by Joel Edgerton. A24 and Plan B Entertainment are working together to finance the project.

It’s the fourth collab between the two production companies. They previously worked together on Moonlight, The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Minari.

The movie is set to film in Queensland. No word on when they’re expecting to release the movie, but we’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, you can catch Davidson in the upcoming horror/slasher ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies‘ which is set to be released on August 5, 2022.

Watch The First Trailer For A24 Dark Comedy Film ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Starring Amandla Stenberg

Dark comedies are the best comedies, and A24 is hoping to deliver a good one with the upcoming feature Bodies Bodies Bodies, starring Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Rachel Sennott and Lee Pace.

The movie was directed by Halina Reijn, and is described as a fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and a party that goes very wrong.

It watches as a game goes awry, when a group of rich 20-somethings arrive for a hurricane party at a remote family mansion.

Sarah DeLappe wrote the script, which was based on a story by Kristen Roupenian. The movie had its world premiere at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival, where it received mostly positive reviews. It currently sits at an impressive 82 rating on MetaCritic, but that will likely drop once more reviews come in.

Bodies Bodies Bodies is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2022, and it should be an entertaining ride. No doubt about it.

Watch The First Trailer For A24 Stop-Motion Feature ‘Marcel The Shell With Shoes On’

A24 continues to grow. They started out as this indie production company, and while independent projects are still their primary focus, they are growing in their creativity/budget.

And on Tuesday, the company released the first trailer for their super unique stop-motion film, Marcel The Shell With Shoes On.

The movie, which stars Jenny Slate, is a comedy based on Dean Fleischer-Camp and Slate’s viral short films of the same name. They have earned over 50 million views on YouTube since their debut in 2010.

It centers on Marcel (Slate), an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie (Isabella Rossellini) and their pet lint, Alan. Once part of a sprawling community of shells, they now live alone as the sole survivors of a mysterious tragedy. But when a documentary filmmaker discovers them amongst the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and a new hope at finding his long-lost family.

The film recently screened at the SXSW to rave reviews. Lovia Gyarkye from The Hollywood Reporter wrote this after watching the sweet movie…

Marcel the Shell With Shoes On is a film with much to offer when it comes to lessons and laughs. It even handles its primary themes about loss, grief and community with humor and grace, an approach that, these days, seems especially hard to find.

A24 plans to release the movie in theaters on June 24, 2022. Check out the trailer below…

Check Out Jessie Buckley In The Full Trailer For A24 Horror-Drama ‘Men’

Jessie Buckley is one of the more talented actresses in Hollywood, so to see her teaming up with A24 and filmmaker Alex Garland has us extremely excited.

Buckley stars in Garland’s upcoming horror-drama, Men. The movie follows a woman named Harper, who goes on a trip alone to the English countryside after a personal tragedy.

Unfortunately, what she thought would be a peaceful, and perhaps even relaxing retreat, turns out to be a frightening nightmare as someone (or something) stalks her from the surrounding woods.

Garland wrote and directed this flick. He also wrote/directed the 2015 hit film, Ex Machina, for which he earned a Best Original Screenplay nomination.

‘Men’ is scheduled to hit theaters on May 20, and it should be a wild ride. There is a lot of hype surrounding this flick, so we’ll see if it can deliver.

With Buckley and Garland steering the ship, I’d say it has a pretty solid chance. Check out the trailer below…

A24 Lines Up Bowen Yang, Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane And More For Upcoming R-Rated Musical ‘F*cking Identical Twins’

As you all know, when A24 is attached to a project, we take notice, and we’re taking all kinds of notice of the upcoming R-rated musical comedy, F*cking Identical Twins

The comedy, which aims to put a subversive twist on The Parent Trap, has been greenlit by A24. Comedians Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp are adapting the film from their two-man stage show, which first premiered back in 2014.

In addition to writing the script, they will also star as the two identical twins in the flick. In addition to Jackson and Sharp, the film will co-star Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, Megan Thee Stallion and Megan Mullally.

F*cking Identical Twins takes inspiration from Hallie and Annie’s mischievous exploits in ‘The Parent Trap’ and follows two business adversaries who realize they’re identical twin brothers. They decide to switch places in order to reunite their divorced parents and become a family again.

The movie is currently in production. Larry Charles is directing the project. He directed Borat and worked as a staff writer on Seinfeld for several seasons, so the comedic talent runs deep with this film.

This will be A24’s first musical, and we honestly cannot wait for it. No word on when it’ll be released, but if filming wraps within the next month or so, it’s possible it gets released late this year, but more likely it’ll be 2023.

A24 Slasher Flick ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Shares First-Look Image Ahead Of SXSW Premiere

The SXSW Film Festival is set to take place next month in Austin after being canceled last year due to COVID-19.

And to make up for lost time, the festival will feature ninety-nine features, seventy-six of those being world premieres. One of those premieres being the upcoming A24 slasher film, Bodies Bodies Bodies.

A first-look image was released this week, promoting the film, which promises to be a very entertaining ride.

When a group of rich 20-somethings plan a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game turns deadly in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.

The cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Pete Davidson, Lee Pace, and Maria Bakalova.

Halina Reijn directed the flick, which was written by several writers, including Kristen Roupenian, Sarah Delappe, Chloe Okuno, Joshua Sharp and Aaron Jackson. Typically, when a film has so many writers on it, that’s bad news for the script, but there’s a lot of hype surrounding this movie, so we’ll refrain from judging it too harshly.

No release date has been announced, but we’re sure once it premieres at the festival next month, a release date will soon follow, depending on the early reactions.

After Yang first premiered last year during the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where it received praise from critics across the board.
