Last week we told you that all the stars from the original Zombieland film were getting back together to create a sequel. Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin have all agreed to return.
Now we know that filming will begin in January 2019 and the scheduled release date is October 11, 2019.
If you don’t remember, the original film was released back on October 2, 2009, so this sequel will be released 10 years after the original film.
As we mentioned in the previous post, Ruben Fleischer will return to direct and the writing team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will return to write the script.
“Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
It’s crazy how fast this is moving. After years of starting and stopping, they are now going full steam ahead.
By this time next year, we’ll probably have a trailer to show you.
