J.K. Simmons has always been in decent shape for someone his age. Even during his magnificent performance in Whiplash, the 61-year-old actor was looking pretty pumped, as you can see in the photo above.
But now that he’s set to star in Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Part One as Gotham City’s police commissioner Jim Gordon, the actor has decided to improve his physique even more.
He’s being trained by retired marine Aaron Williamson. The same trainer who has worked with Zac Efron and The Rock. That’s some great company to be in, and it looks like Williamson has managed to get Simmons in the best shape of his life.
Check out the photos Williamson shared on his Instagram account. He captioned the photos, “Every time we train together I forget he’s 61-years-old. So much respect for this guy.”
Daaamn, right? Dude is jacked. Can you imagine how terrifying he would be as Fletcher now? That beard? Those muscles? Geez.
Just how big his role in Justice League will be is still unknown; however, he’s obviously giving himself completely to the role. You wouldn’t think he would work this hard if he was only going to be on screen for a few minutes. I have a feeling he’ll have some bad-ass action sequences in the film.
Justice League: Part One hits theaters November 17, 2017. You better go watch it, or else Simmons might show up at your door. You don’t want that.
