Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman film was a huge hit for Warner Bros., the film has made more than $389 million at the domestic box office. It’s made an additional $390 million from international markets. It’s the second-highest-grossing film in 2017 in the states after Beauty and the Beast.
Obviously after the success with critics and fans, the studio knew they had to get started on a sequel. In an announcement made Tuesday, the studio revealed the scheduled release date for Wonder Woman 2 is Dec. 13, 2019.
According to a report from Variety, Jenkins and Geoff Johns started working on the sequel script back in June, so everyone is working hard to get this sequel started.
Johns said in an interview that he always has a blast working with Jenkins, and the only thing they’re worried about is making another great film for the fans.
“Patty and I are writing the treatment right now. The goal is to make another great ‘Wonder Woman’ film.”
If you don’t want to wait until 2019 to see Gal Gadot in action again, don’t you worry your little head. Her character will make an appearance in Justice League, which is scheduled to hit theaters in November.[mashshare]
