Will Ferrell And Mark Wahlberg Teaming Up Again For New Comedy Titled ‘Daddy’s Home’

The title of the film and the plot might sound familiar to you, and that’s because the rumors surrounding this film started leaking last year. Daddy’s Home was originally supposed to star Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell, but it now looks like Vince Vaughn is out.

Paramount Pictures announced yesterday that it will now be Mark Wahlberg teaming up with Will Ferrell to create the laughs in the Daddy vs. Daddy comedy. Director Sean Anders (Horrible Bosses 2) will direct the script, which has seen several writers working on it. Entourage writer Brian Burns will get the main credit for it.

So what is the film all about, and why should you be excited for it? Well, according to the Paramount press release, we will see Ferrell and Wahlberg going head to head in the comedy.

Ferrell will play a mild-mannered radio executive who is prepared to become the best step-dad to his wife’s two kids. However, things get complicated when their freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives, which forces the two men to fight for the affection of the children.

Sounds promising, right? Personally, I would have preferred having Vince Vaughn in this film as the straight man and Will Ferrell as the freeloading father. I think that would have worked out extremely well, but I am still excited to see where this film goes. The filming will begin later this year.
