Last year, Ari Aster scared us all with the unnerving A24 horror/thriller Hereditary. The film performed very well with both critics and the general audience, making nearly $80 million at the box office against a $9 million budget.
Now Aster is teaming up with A24 again for another horror flick titled Midsommar.
A couple named Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor) head to a Swedish town to visit a friend for a special retreat that becomes more sinister with each creepy breath.
In addition to Pugh and Reynor, this movie will also star the talented Will Poulter and William Jackson Harper.
This new trailer offers a little more insight into the characters and their personal drama. We know that the lead characters Dani and Christian were on the verge of breaking up before a personal tragedy kept them together.
Aster has promised Midsommar is a “breakup movie, in the same way that Hereditary is a family tragedy.”
Check out the trailer below. The movie will hit theaters July 3, 2019…[mashshare]
