Everyone has been talking about Netflix’s upcoming Taylor Swift documentary, Miss Americana. Just how #deep will the documentary get? How much tea spilling will happen?
Well, we’re getting our first look at the documentary this week. Netflix released the first trailer just one day before the doc is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
Directed by Lana Wilson (After Tiller), the film chronicles the turning point in Swift’s career when she shifted from the apolitical ‘please and thank you’ pop star into an outright activist. Cameras were rolling as Swift made her decision to make a political statement publicly for the first time, and also as she faced backlash for her decision.
The trailer looks promising, but I’m always hesitant with these documentaries made by celebs. It’s always one sided, you know? I mean, I enjoyed Kevin Hart’s docuseries on Netflix, but it was from his side of things. It was made to make him look good.
And I’m sure Swift’s will be the same. Check out the trailer below. It’ll be available to stream on Netflix on January 31.
