Filmmaker Sam Mendes is the man responsible for films like American Beauty, Jarhead, Revolutionary Road and the James Bond film Spectre.
Now he’s hoping to add to his impressive resume with the World War I film, 1917.
The film follows two young British soldiers during one “grueling day in World War I. And if they don’t complete their critical mission to foil a planned attack, more than 1,600 men will die.”
1917 stars George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Colin Firth.
This new trailer will definitely get your heart pounding. It’s intense and really sets the tone for the movie. A pretty decent trailer, which is not something we say often.
In addition to directing this movie, Mendes also wrote it. A first for him, so it’ll be interesting to see how this movie performs with both the audience and critics.
Check out the trailer below. It’s scheduled to have a limited release on Christmas, followed by a wide release in January 2020.[mashshare]
