Robert De Niro is still best known for his performances in crime dramas like Casino, The Godfather Part II, and Goodfellas.
But in his senior years, De Niro has been focusing a lot more on comedies. He was obviously fantastic in Meet the Parents, but some of his more recent films, like Dirty Grandpa and The Big Wedding haven’t performed so well.
Still, De Niro is sticking with comedy. His latest film, The War With Grandpa, is set to hit theaters in October. The family comedy, which also stars Uma Thurman and Christopher Walken, has De Niro playing the role of grandpa once again.
Peter is your average kid, but when he forced to surrender his most prized possession — his bedroom — to his recently widowed granddad the boy devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive him out. But Grandpa Ed won’t go without a fight, and he recruits his buddies to deploy his vengeful schemes.
The first trailer for the movie was released this week. You can check it out below.
If you do take your kids to see this, please don’t let them think this is all De Niro has to offer.
