What’s better than one Seth Rogen? Two Seth Rogens, of course! The actor/writer/comedian is starring in the upcoming HBO Max film, American Pickle.
In the movie, Rogen plays a man who falls into a vat of pickles and is brined for 100 years. He’s also playing the pickled man’s great-grandson.
Herschel Greenbaum, is a 1920s immigrant laborer who arrives in America to give his family a better life. While working in a factory, he falls into a vat of pickles and, through the magic of science that is 100-percent totally real, is perfectly brined for 100 years, after which he wakes up in the year 2020. The other Rogen character, Ben Greenbaum, is Herschel’s great-grandson living in 21st century Brooklyn.
This movie was scheduled to hit theaters this year, but due to the pandemic, it’s going straight to HBO Max. Sony Pictures sold worldwide rights to the streaming service earlier this year.
The first trailer was released this week, and it looks, uh, interesting.
Check out the trailer below. It’ll hit HBO Max on August 6. Get your pickles ready.
