Guillermo del Toro is entering the production game in a big way. The horror film ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark‘, was just released inside theaters two weekends ago. It’s already made over $50 million worldwide against a budget of $25 million.
del Toro produced the film and did a lot to promote it. You could tell he was proud of the work they did.
And now he’s hoping to have another success with the upcoming horror flick, Antlers. The film stars Keri Russell and the underappreciated Jesse Plemons.
According to the synopsis, the movie is set in a small Oregon village. Russell plays a school teacher and Plemons plays her brother, the local sheriff.
Together, they discover “that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.”
Scott Cooper directed the film and del Toro produced. No word on a specific release date, but it’s expected to hit theaters sometime in 2020.
