You probably remember Rosamund Pike for her beautiful/terrifying performance in Gone Girl. Now the 39-year-old actress is taking the leading role in A Private War.
She stars as a fearless reporter named Marie Colvin. Jamie Dornan will co-star as her photog, Paul Conroy.
“In a world where journalism is under attack, Colvin is one of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time. She’s driven to the frontlines of conflicts across the globe to give voice to the voiceless, while constantly testing the limits between bravery and bravado. Colvin sacrifices loving relationships, and over time, her personal life starts to unravel as the trauma she’s witnessed takes its toll.”
Matthew Heineman directs this project, which will be his narrative-feature debut. Before this, he directed documentaries like Cartel Land and City of Ghosts. He’s an extremely talented filmmaker, so it’ll be neat to see him testing his narrative muscles.
A Private War will open November 2 in New York and Los Angeles. Check out the trailer below…
