When you see that a movie is starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, you stop what you’re doing and take notice.
So, uh, stop what you’re doing.
Apple and A24 have released the first trailer for ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth‘ which stars Washington as Lord Macbeth and Frances as Lady Macbeth. This new adaptation of the classic play by William Shakespeare was directed by Joel Coen.
As you can see, the film was shot in black-and-white, and it will follow the couple’s murderous ploys for power over Scotland and their descent into madness.
This teaser trailer comes just a few days before the film is expected to premiere at the New York Film Festival on Friday. It marks Coen’s solo directorial debut, so it’s a pretty big deal for him, as he’s doing this without his brother.
Tragedy of Macbeth will have a limited release inside theaters on December 25, 2021.
