Watch David Spade In New Trailer For Original Netflix Comedy ‘Father of the Year’

David Spade might not be a huge deal now, but in the past? He starred in some great comedies: Joe Dirt, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, Senseless and Tommy Boy.

Now he’s trying to make his return to greatness with the original Netflix comedy, Father of the Year.

“When a drunken debate between two recent college graduates about whose father would win in a fight is taken seriously by their idiot dads, jobs are lost, relationships ruined, futures destroyed, and best friends come of age as they come to grips with who their fathers really are.”

In addition to Spade, this film co-stars Joey Bragg, Nat Faxon, and Matt Shively.

The trailer looks pretty ridiculous. I don’t have any faith in this movie, and I really don’t understand why Spade and Adam Sandler don’t even try anymore with their comedies. They obviously have talent, and Sandler still stars in great dramas, but for some reason, they have thrown in the comedy towel.

Anyway, Father of the Year will be released on Netflix July 20. It’ll be a great film to stream while you’re doing laundry, making dinner, taking a shower or napping.
