‘Horse Girl’ might sound like some weird ‘Bojack Horseman‘ spinoff, but we promise you it’s not.
The movie, which is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, stars Alison Brie as a girl named Sarah who has a quiet and simple life, “contenting herself with the crafts-store job she holds, the nightly supernatural crime TV show she adores, and the equestrian center she visits constantly.”
But things change when she receives a gift that stirs her curiosity about her family’s history. Bizarre dreams start to disrupt her sleep, which leads to her trying to hold on to her “fragile reality.”
Brie wrote the script with Jeff Baena, who also directed the project. The film also stars Debby Ryan, Molly Shannon, John Ortiz, Paul Reiser and John Reynolds.
After its premiere at Sundance, it’ll be available to stream on Netflix February 7, 2020.
