Are you nervous about Pixar’s plan to develop a new Toy Story film? Well, we might have some good news for you.

Back in November of last year, we learned that Toy Story 4 was being developed by Pixar. This concerned fans of the franchise because 2010’s Toy Story 3 was a perfect way to end the delightful franchise.

And it turns out the creative team at Pixar felt the same way. That’s why they waited over three years before even discussing a possible fourth film. Last year, the team finally came up with a fresh idea to bring the franchise back.

Pixar president Jim Morris spoke to Disney Latino recently and talked a little more about the movie.

“The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind.”

So what will Toy Story 4 be about? Love.

“It will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not make much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.”

We are intrigued and relieved. This is the only way a fourth film makes sense. They can continue to introduce the ‘Toy Story’ world without ruining the previous films.

Toy Story 4 is scheduled for a June 16, 2017 release.
