‘The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run‘ won’t hit theaters until May 22, 2020, but the fine folks in charge of promoting the film are already giving us the first teaser trailer.
And this new trailer features a surprise appearance from Keanu Reeves.
This movie was written/directed by Tim Hill, and the story revolves around SpongeBob’s pet snail Gary being snail-napped.
After SpongeBob’s beloved pet snail Gary is snail-napped, he and Patrick embark on an epic adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to bring Gary home. As they navigate the delights and dangers on this perilous and hilarious rescue mission, SpongeBob and his pals prove there’s nothing stronger than the power of friendship.
Sounds like a classic story. The impressive voice cast includes Awkwafina, Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown and Reggie Watts.
