Earlier this week, Lionsgate released a pretty creepy poster to promote the upcoming Guillermo del Toro-produced horror flick, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It was one of the better posters we’ve seen this year.
Now the studio is blessing us with the first trailer, and it looks like this movie is going to be really creepy and also super gross. It’s designed to make you uncomfortable.
This movie stars Zoe Colletti, Gabriel Rush, Dean Norris, Michael Garza and is adapted from Alvin Schwartz’s anthology series of the same name.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will be released August 9, 2019. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below…
It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.
