That Men In Black/Jump Street Crossover Film? It Has An Official Title Now…

For months we have been hearing about how this Men in Black/Jump Street crossover project was still being developed. It seemed like just a ridiculous rumor connected to the 2014 hacking of Sony Pictures. Yeah, there were leaked emails to back it up, but no one thought they were actually serious about it.

They were though. The film is happening and now we have the official title: MIB 23. The title was revealed during Sony’s upcoming release panel at CinemaCon. James Bobin is expected to direct the movie, and Jump Street co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are on board as producers.

We also know Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will be back to reprise their roles from the Jump Street films. Sources say the project will enter production in June.

That’s about all we know. It’s believed Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be sitting this one out. The studio wants a new (and younger) duo to team up with Hill and Tatum. But as far as we know, nothing has been confirmed, so there is a chance Smith or Jones might make a surprise appearance.

I hate to admit it, because this idea does seem to highlight the things I hate most about Hollywood, but I am looking forward to watching this movie.

I know, I know. I’m sorry.
