Things Are Getting Crazy In The First Trailer For ‘Dark Phoenix’

Dark Phoenix, the next installment in the X-Men franchise, has released its first trailer. The trailer aired last night during The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Games of Thrones‘ actress Sophie Turner stars in this sequel as Jean Grey. This trailer briefly covers the character’s “tormented transformation into the titular force that threatens her fellow mutants and more in the Marvel saga.”

I know basically zero about the X-Men franchise, so I’m not sure how people are reacting to this trailer. Is it good? Bad? Average? Does it spoil too much? Who knows.

We do know the movie will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019, which means if your SO is an X-Men fan, you will have it super easy next year. A box of chocolates, flowers and two tickets to watch the movie.

Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Film Now Has A Release Date, And It’s Super Romantic

It feels like we have been talking about this ‘Gambit‘ film for years. It’s been in development for a long time, but it’s finally getting made, and we now have an official release date from 20th Century Fox.

The X-Men movie starring Channing Tatum will hit theaters February 14, 2019. There are two other movies scheduled to be released on that same date, including Warner Bros’ comedy Isn’t It Romantic starring Liam Hemsworth and Rebel Wilson.

To learn a little more about this Gambit project, we’ll hit you with this excerpt from Deadline:

“Chris Claremont and Jim Lee created Gambit for Marvel in 1990. Otherwise known as Remy LeBeau, Gambit has the ability to charge matter with volatile kinetic energy, causing the object in question to explosively release its charge on impact. The character materialized in a short burst in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine at the time portrayed by Taylor Kitsch.”

Another day, another comic book movie. I have to imagine by 2020, the general movie audience will grow tired of these films. This is what Hollywood does. It notices that something is working, and then beats the sh*t out of it until no one appreciates it anymore.

And then in like 20 years, it will make a comeback.

‘The New Mutants’ Trailer Has Arrived And It Looks Like A Legit Horror Film, Check It Out Inside!

Comic book films have become so popular lately. The market is saturated with them, which means they’re having to put new twists on the genre to keep people interested. We have seen this recently with the more serious/drama filled comic book films like Batman v Superman and Logan.

And now that those are already getting old, the studios are moving on to horror films. That’s right. The New Mutants is a legit horror film contained in the X-Men universe.

The director of the film, Josh Boone, revealed earlier this year they were hoping to do something very different…

“We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different.”

This trailer has all the things you’d expect to see in a trailer for a horror film. It’s got scary masks, a creepy asylum and those always terrifying jump scares.

Maisie Williams, Charlie HeatonAnya Taylor-Joy and Henry Zaga star in the movie, which is set to be released April 13, 2018. Check out the trailer below…

Fox Announces Release Dates For Six Mystery Marvel Movies!

Well, 20th Century Fox just made Marvel fans very excited today. They announced release dates for six mystery Marvel movies through 2021.

Here are the scheduled release dates:

  • June 7, 2019
  • November 22, 2019
  • March 13, 2020
  • June 26, 2020
  • October 2, 2020
  • March 5, 2021

It’s likely that a third Deadpool movie will take up one of the dates listed above, most likely the June 26, 2020 date. Deadpool 2 is currently scheduled to be released June 1, 2018.

Fox also owns the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, so you can expect those universes to mix in with the dates listed above. We’ve been hearing talks about a Logan spinoff, but that has not been confirmed.

Variety also reports:

“Another slated stand-alone spinoff could be “Gambit” from the X-Men. Channing Tatum has been confirmed to portray the title role, although the film’s production has been pushed back multiple times. Numerous setbacks caused director Rupert Wyatt to exit the project in 2015.”

We’ll keep you posted as more information is released. For now, just be excited that you won’t be short on Marvel films in the coming years.

Before we even get to 2019, we’ll have The New Mutants on April 13, 2018, Deadpool 2 in June and X-Men: Dark Phoenix in November, 2018.
