Watch Will Ferrell And Rachel McAdams Star In First Trailer For ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’

Will Ferrell is known for starring in some extremely silly movies. Sometimes they work (Elf, Anchorman, Step Brothers) and sometimes they don’t (Holmes & Watson, Daddy’s Home)

Where will his latest film, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, fall on the list? It’s still too early to tell, but if we’re going off the trailer alone, it’s not looking so hot.

The comedy film was originally supposed to be released back in May to coincide with the real-life Eurovision Song Contest, but due to the pandemic, it was pushed back.

Now, Netflix plans to release the movie on June 26, 2020.

Eurovision Song Contest features Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as Icelandic singing duo Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, aka Fire Saga as they are given the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest. However, nobody, including Lars’ father (Pierce Brosnan), think they are any good. In fact, everybody seems to hate everything they do.

As mentioned above, this trailer is not doing anything for me. Maybe I’m not the target audience though.

Watch Will Ferrell And Julia Louis-Dreyfus In First Trailer For ‘Downhill’

Earlier this month we showed you the first image for the upcoming dramedy ‘Downhill‘ starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The film is an English language remake of the 2014 hit film Force Majeure, which won the Best Film award at the 50th Guldbagge Awards.

And the story got us excited.

The story follows a vacationing businessman who reacts selfishly/cowardly during what appears to be a deadly avalanche by abandoning his wife and children.

Obviously that sounds like the perfect role for Ferrell, and thanks to this first trailer, we finally get to see it all in action.

And thankfully, it still looks promising. Maybe not as great as I thought, but trailers can be deceptive. I’m still hopeful.

The movie is set to premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. It’ll then be released inside theaters February 14, 2020.

Check Out The First Image From Will Ferrell And Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Upcoming Dramedy ‘Downhill’

If you haven’t heard anything about the upcoming dramedy ‘Downhill‘ starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, well, now is the time to change that.

The film is an English language remake of the 2014 hit film Force Majeure, which won the Best Film award at the 50th Guldbagge Awards and was named one of the top films of the year by several publications.

The story follows a vacationing businessman who reacts selfishly/cowardly during what appears to be a deadly avalanche by abandoning his wife and children.

This US remake is being directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, the duo behind the lovely coming-of-age flick The Way, Way Back.

I’m super excited for this movie. It’s got a great story, great directors, great cast…let’s just hope they don’t screw it up. The film is expected to hit theaters Valentine’s Day 2020.

On This Day 15 Years Ago, The Classic Holiday Film ‘Elf’ Was Released

Elf‘ is a true holiday classic. It’s aired on almost every basic cable channel throughout the month of December. It’s fun for the whole family and is truly a movie you can watch over and over again.

And given how popular it still is today, it’s hard to believe it was released 15 years ago. The Christmas comedy starring Will Ferrell was released on November 7, 2003. It made over $220 million at the box office and has gone on to make much more than that.

Some people don’t remember that Jon Favreau actually directed the movie. That name probably sounds familiar to you. Favreau directed the live-action remake of ‘The Jungle Book‘ in 2016.

David Berenbaum, the screenwriter who created this classic, had just moved to Los Angeles from the East Coast when he wrote the script. He was missing the holiday spirit in LA because it was sunny and in the 80s in December.

So he decided to write a Christmas flick to put his mind back in the holiday season…

“It was very comforting to write a Christmas movie when you miss the snow, and there’s a heatwave outside.”

And now his words have comforted millions of people across the world every December.

Will Ferrell Reveals What Would Have Happened In ‘Step Brothers’ Sequel

Have you seen Step Brothers? Of course you have. The 2008 comedy is a classic, and it’s constantly playing on some random cable channel. If you haven’t watched the movie by now, you’re probably actively trying to avoid it, and if that’s the case…WHY????? Stop doing that.

Fans of the comedy have been asking for a sequel for years, but unfortunately their requests were ignored. Now we are learning that there was a story created for a potential sequel.

In a recent interview, Will Ferrell revealed he and director Adam McKay had at one point worked on a sequel script, and it sounds like the idea had a lot of potential. Basically, Ferrell’s character and John C. Reilly’s character would follow their parents to a retirement community and then convince their parents they’ve earned the right to be retired too.

“We talked about ‘Step Brothers,’ and then Adam and I got sidetracked with other things…We had a whole story where John and I follow our parents to live in a retirement community and try to convince them that we earned the right to retire as well.”

Sadly, the sequel is no longer on Ferrell’s or McKay’s radar, but that doesn’t mean it’ll never happen. The story is there, and if everyone’s schedules come together, who knows what might happen.

All we’re saying is that there is a chance. Don’t lose hope.

Will Ferrell Slams Mariah Carey For Failed Cameo In ‘The House,’ Talks About Her Ridiculous Behavior On Set (VIDEO)

Mariah Carey is known for being the biggest diva in the world. Why anyone would invite her to do anything is beyond me. She’s not even that popular anymore.

But for some reason the studio behind Will Ferrell’s latest comedy ‘The House‘ invited her on set for a cameo in the film. She was booked for a one day shoot, and during this day, she was scheduled to perform a song in the movie.

It never happened, though. During an interview on Watch What Happens Live, Ferrell talked about why viewers should not expect to see Mariah in the film. According to Ferrell, the 47-year-old singer arrived to set four hours late, and had a list of ridiculous demands. She requested a trailer full of stuffed lamb dolls.

She also had silly script notes, “One script note was ‘I don’t want to do this scene.’ Even though it was totally approved at the time.” The plan was for her to sing one of her songs, but when she arrived to film the scene, she told the production crew she wanted to sing a different song.

“[She wanted to sing] something else, which is hard with clearance, and it became quite a kerfuffle… a.k.a. s**tstorm. At 11 p.m., there was a knock on my trailer door and they said ‘You could go home,’ I got in my car and left everyone at set, and it didn’t happen.”

Another actor from the movie, Rob Huebel, talked specifically about the scene changes Mariah wanted…

“She was like, ‘I don’t think my character would get killed by bullets. What if I deflected them like Wonder Woman?’ They were like, ‘Mariah, we don’t have time for [this]. You’re getting paid so much money. We have you for one day. We don’t have time to argue with you. Just do it.’ She just didn’t want to do what they wanted her to do.”

Well, it’s official. Mariah Carey is insane, and she probably shouldn’t be allowed to leave her own house.

Another Sequel? You Bet! ‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Has Released Its First Trailer, Check Out The Tired Jokes Inside!

Did you watch Daddy’s Home? It’s okay, you can admit it. Maybe you even laughed a few times during the movie, and that’s okay too. But if after watching the film, you thought, “Wow! I hope they make another one!” Well, you can go jump off a cliff.

Daddy’s Home 2 will bring in the fathers of Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s characters, ’cause that was the obvious move to make for the sequel.

Mel Gibson plays Wahlberg’s, macho and estranged father, and John Lithgow plays Ferrell’s super affectionate papa. We’re not going to explain the plot to you, ’cause you should be able to figure it out after watching the trailer below. If it’s still confusing to you, maybe you should go check out one of Adam Sandler’s Netflix films.

By the way, the original Daddy’s Home made close to $250 million at the box office back in 2015/2016, so that’s why we’re getting this sequel. The budget was just under $70 million.

If you’d like to see a Daddy’s Home 3, where they bring their great grandfathers back from the dead, be sure to check out Daddy’s Home 2 on November 10, 2017.

Will Ferrell And Amy Poehler Star In First Trailer For Outrageous Comedy ‘The House’

No one does bizarre comedy better than Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler. The two comedy stars have teamed up together to start their own underground casino in The House.

The plot is a pretty simple one. Amy and Will can’t afford to send their daughter to the college of her dreams, so they open up an illegal casino in their basement to earn more money.

It looks like your typical summer comedy. Nothing special, but it will probably entertain you for an hour or two. I chuckled once during the trailer, and it was at the very end.

In addition to Ferrell and Poehler, Jason Mantzoukas and Allison Tolman star in the movie. ‘Neighbors’ writer Andrew J. Cohen directed the project. He also co-wrote the script.

It’s expected to hit theaters June 2, 2017, and it’s probably going to make a lot of money. Check out the trailer below…

Will Ferrell Will Star In eSports Comedy That Will Reportedly Have The Same Feel As ‘Talladega Nights”

All you fans of Ricky Bobby better get excited. According to a new report, Will Ferrell is attached to an untitled comedy set in the world of eSports. Legendary is the studio behind this project, and the script was written by Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme, the writing team behind the upcoming Spongebob Squarepants movie.

Ferrell’s character will be a member of a professional eSports team, and due to his age, he’s a bit of an anomaly in the gaming universe. Most players usually retire in their late 20s, but Ferrell refuses to give up on his dream.

The report from Variety claims this movie will be “in the vein of Ferrell’s NASCAR comedy ‘Talladega Nights,'” which makes sense. It certainly sounds like Ferrell will be playing the Ricky Bobby of the eSports world.

And for those of you rolling your eyes, this eSports business is legit, and its players make a lot of money.

Deadline reports:

“The top eSports players are as young as 15, and can earn millions of dollars through prize money, endorsements and streaming as the sport has spread to pro leagues and arenas where gameplay is shown on giant screens. The 2015 League of Legends finals had more viewers than the World Series or NBA Finals.”

The audience is there. This movie will be a huge hit. Well, unless it spends too much time making fun of the community. They’ll have to be careful with that. You don’t want to cross the line and upset the people you’re hoping will support the film.

Reunited And It Feels So Good: Will Ferrell And John C. Reilly Teaming Up Again In Sherlock Holmes Comedy ‘Holmes & Watson’

Something magical happens when John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell make movies together. Ferrell is like a Ritz Cracker, and Reilly is like that Easy Cheese stuff that comes in a can. You feel a little disgusted with yourself after eating them, but you always go back for more when you need a little pick-me-up.

After having success with Talladega Nights and Step Brothers, Team Willy will hit the big screen again in Holmes & Watson. Etan Cohen will be directing the film, which was inspired by the Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tale. Ferrell will be playing Holmes and Reilly is taking on the role of his trusty sidekick, Watson.

Sony Pictures had previously greenlit this project with Sacha Baron Cohen set to star with Ferrell, but it hit a bump in the road when Sacha dropped out. A few weeks later, the film was repackaged with Reilly and when scheduling slots for all parties cleared, Sony went all in.

Production is scheduled to start after Thanksgiving. According to the reports, they want to shoot and release this movie as soon as possible, most likely because there are so many other Sherlock Holmes projects in production.

You got Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes film series, the CBS series Elementary, and the British-American Sherlock tv series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

We’ll see if Ferrell and Reilly can figure out a way to put a fresh spin on something we’ve already seen several times before. No release date has been announced, but we’ll keep you posted.
