Could This Be The Weirdest Movie Of The Year? Watch Anne Hathaway Slowly Figure Out She’s A Godzilla-Like Monster In ‘Colossal’ Trailer

Last year we had Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse, and this year we have Anne Hathaway as a Godzilla-like monster destroying Seoul.

Colossal‘ stars Hathaway as “an alcoholic named Gloria who finds out that her movements are controlling a giant monster terrorizing South Korea.”

It’s described as an indie comedy/monster flick, which doesn’t sound right at all. It’s like trying to combine the worlds of Juno and Jaws.

Colossal is currently playing at Sundance and surprisingly it’s been getting mostly positive reviews, although, it sounds like most critics went in with the attitude of, “This is going to be f–king weird, and I’m going to accept it.”

Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens and Tim Blake Nelson also star in the movie, which is scheduled to hit theaters in April.

Check out the trailer below…

First Trailer For ‘The Discovery’ Has Been Released, Watch Jason Segel And Rooney Mara Deal With The Afterlife (VIDEO)

You probably haven’t heard much about this movie, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your attention now. The Discovery was directed by Charlie McDowell, and that’s an important detail because McDowell directed the beautiful 2014 mystery film, The One I Love.

His new film is a sci-fi romance starring Jason Segel, Rooney Mara and Robert Redford. According to the description from Entertainment Weekly, the movie takes place in a world where the afterlife has been confirmed.

“The hereafter has been empirically confirmed and people have begun dying by suicide as a result. Redford plays the scientist responsible for the titular discovery, Segel portrays his son Will, and Mara is Ilsa, a woman with a tragic past whom Will falls for.”

It sounds like it has potential and I’m a big Jason Segel fan, so I’m pretty excited for this one. The trailer below only features one line of dialogue. The trailer’s rhythm comes from the music of Roy Orbison’s “Only the Lonely.”

The Discovery will premiere on Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. It’s scheduled for a March 31 release on Netflix.

Surprise, Surprise…Ice Cube Returns In The Final Trailer For ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ (VIDEO)

Hollywood doesn’t like surprises. They want to give you all the details in the trailer, because they fear you won’t see the movie if you don’t know enough information about it.

A great example of this is the latest (and final) trailer for Paramount Pictures’ xXx: Return of Xander Cage. The sequel will be released in just one week now, and all of the trailers leading up to this point have refrained from showing the return of Darius Stone, played by Ice Cube.

But they couldn’t keep the secret for one more week. It was too much for them, so they released the trailer you see above, which clearly shows the return of Ice Cube.

It’s not clear how big his role will be. He might have a co-starring role where he and Vin share the screen together, or it might be a cameo deal. Either way, it would have had more of an impact had they not released this final trailer.

The damage is done though. I mean, I wasn’t going to see this movie anyway, but it still upsets me on some level. I’m upset for the fans of this franchise. I wish you guys would have received the surprise you all deserved.

‘Game of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams Stars In The Trailer For Netflix Original Film ‘iBoy’ (VIDEO)

Most of you know Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones, but that’s not the only thing she has going for her. The 19-year-old actress is the star of the new Netflix film, iBoy.

She plays a girl named Lucy in the movie who has a best friend named Tom. And we know what you’re thinking, “So what? I have a friend named Tom too. Heck, we all had a friend named Tom 10 years ago.”

That’s true. But does your friend Tom have superpowers? Didn’t think so. You see, Tom recently came out of a coma and he’s finding it difficult to return to his normal life as a teenager because he has a bizarre set of superpowers.

The film is based on the Kevin Brooks novel of the same name. In addition to Maisie Williams, Bill Milner, Miranda Richardson and Rory Kinnear also star.

You can watch iBoy on Netflix starting January 27, 2017. That’s one thing we love about Netflix. When they release a trailer, they don’t make you wait a year to watch it. If you see a trailer for a Netflix film, you can bet it’s going to be released very soon.

Want To Watch A Film About Teenage Cannibals? Well Check Out The First Trailer For ‘Raw’ Inside!

Hopefully you are eating lunch right now because it will only make this trailer more satisfying for you. You may remember hearing about this ‘Raw’ film last year when it premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. It made the headlines because it reportedly made multiple people throw up and faint.

Well now the first ‘red band’ trailer for the movie has been released and people are freaking out. Raw was written and directed by Julia Ducournau, and believe it or not, it’s described as a coming-of-age film.

It follows a vegetarian college student who discovers she finds pleasure in flesh and slowly transforms into a cannibal.

Sound like your typical coming-of-age tale, right?

It’s scheduled to be released on March 10, so you still have two months to prepare for this one. You might want to show up early, eat your popcorn during the previews, and then use the empty popcorn bag as a vomit catcher.

The First Trailer For The Next ‘Alien’ Film Is Here, And It Is Quite Chilling (VIDEO)

The last week of December is honestly one of the most difficult for movie bloggers. There isn’t a lot of news to talk about right now. It’ll pick back up next month with the upcoming award shows, but right now? It’s like going through a buffet line right after a team of NFL players smash it.

This is why we’re showing you a trailer that was released back on Saturday. Most of you have probably seen it, but hopefully not all of you.

The first ‘Alien: Covenant‘ trailer surprised fans this past holiday weekend. Ridley Scott has (of course) returned to direct this sequel to 2012’s Prometheus. In this sequel, the crew of colony ship Covenant discover what they believe to be uncharted paradise.

But you know, it’s not. There are dangerous creatures and sh*t. In this movie, you’ll find mediocre performances from Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride.

It will hit a theater near you on May 19, 2017. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below.

“Headed toward a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew members of the colony ship Covenant discover what they believe to be an uncharted paradise, but it is actually a dark, menacing world in which the only inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Watch The Newest (And Creepiest) Trailer For The Horror-Thriller ‘A Cure for Wellness’

Here is a film you might not have heard of yet. A Cure for Wellness is a psychological horror thriller directed by Gore Verbinski, and that name should get you excited. Gore is the man behind The Ring, Pirates Of The Caribbean, and The Weather Man.

And I know The Weather Man is an odd film to include in that list, but I loved the cheese out of the film, so all you haters can take yo’ noise and blast it somewhere else.

Dane DeHaan stars in this movie as an “ambitious young executive sent to an idyllic but mysterious ‘wellness center.'” During his time there, he’s tasked with trying to figure out what happened to his company’s CEO.

But that proves to be difficult, as Wiki explains:

“He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests there longing for the cure.”

Interested? Me too, and you’ll be even more interested after watching the trailer. In addition to DeHaan, the film also stars Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs.

It’s scheduled to hit theaters Feb. 17, 2017.

The Red-Band Trailer For Amy Schumer’s New Comedy Film ‘Snatched’ Has Arrived, Check Out The Dirty Jokes Inside!

If you see a movie that says “starring Amy Schumer,” you should know what to expect. It’s going to be filled with inappropriate jokes and self-deprecating humor. That’s her style, and it seems to be working for her, considering her last film Trainwreck brought in over $140 million at the box office.

Schumer is back on the big screen again, and she’s playing Goldie Hawn’s daughter. Snatched is a story following a mother and daughter on their disastrous trip to South America.

In addition to Schumer and Hawn, the film will also star John Cusack, Wanda Sykes and Ike Barinholtz. Katie Dippold is the writer behind the script, and her name might sound familiar to you. She wrote The Heat, Ghostbusters and several episodes of Parks & Rec.

From the trailer, it doesn’t look like this movie will be anything special. Nothing that will change the comedy game, but it may be an entertaining way to spend a lonely Saturday night.

Check out the NSFW trailer below. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on Mother’s Day weekend. That’s May 12, for you horrible children out there.

It Has Arrived! The Trailer For ‘Despicable Me 3’ Has Been Released And It Looks Like A Lot Of Fun

Sequels aren’t usually my thing, but there is a special place in my heart for the Despicable Me film series. It’s endearing, hilarious, and always super entertaining. The second film in the franchise, Despicable Me 2, was released back in 2013.

It was the second-highest-grossing animated film of 2013. It brought in over $900 million against a budget of just $76 million. It was also nominated for two Oscars, but it didn’t win because Frozen took over everything that year.

Universal Pictures is hoping for the same success with this third film. Pierre Coffin returned to co-direct the movie, and all your favorite voices have returned. Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, and Miranda Cosgrove. South Park creator, Trey Parker, also stars in the movie as Balthazar Bratt.

And Bratt’s character description is great: “Bratt is a mustachioed ’80s child star who uses chewing gum and shoulder pads for his evildoing.”

He should be a magnificent villain. Despicable Me 3 will be released June 30, 2017. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below…

“Gru faces off against Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who grows up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ’80s; and gets into some sibling rivalry when he meets his long lost twin brother, Dru.”

John Cena Starring In A Serious Movie? Check Out The First Trailer For Psychological Thriller ‘The Wall’

This week has been a huge week for trailers. We have seen the Baywatch trailer get released, Fifty Shades Darker, War for the Planet of the Apes, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Assassin’s Creed.

But what about the indie projects? What about the original scripts? Where they at? Well, we got one for you. First-time screenwriter Dwain Worrell’s script for The Wall made the 2014 Black List, and not long after that, it was bought by Amazon Studios.

From there, they teamed up with Roadside Attractions and found a director for the project. An extremely talented director named Doug Liman, whose credits include The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow, and Swingers.

And after landing Liman, Amazon Studios went out and got a great lead, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who just recently killed it in Nocturnal Animals. If you haven’t watched the film, you need to check it out just for his performance.

Anyway, so where does John Cena come in? Well, he’s Johnson’s co-star in The Wall. He’s mostly been in comedies or crappy action films, so it’ll be interesting to see his performance in this movie.

In the film, which is scheduled to be released March 10, 2017, two soldiers (Johnson and Cena) are pinned down by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a deteriorating wall between them.

The trailer looks pretty intense. I enjoyed it. You can read the official synopsis and watch the trailer below…

“The Wall follows two soldiers pinned down by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. Their fight becomes as much a battle of will and wits as it is of lethally accurate marksmanship.”
