Tiffany Haddish Lands Starring Role In Upcoming Family Comedy ‘I.F.’

Tiffany Haddish is one of the busiest stars in Hollywood. She has several films in various stages of production. Additionally, she’s not tied to one genre. She’s doing dramas, comedies, romcoms, etc.

Her latest project? A family comedy film titled I.F., which is described as a live-action hybrid. It’s set to blend animation with live-action. Several films have been doing that lately.

The project will be directed by Mike Mitchell, and the script was written by Darren Lemke. Not much is known about the story, except that it’ll feature an imaginary friend. Mitchell is known for directing Shrek Forever After and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.

In addition to starring, Haddish will also produce through her She Ready banner. She obviously got some great advice from Kevin Hart early in her career. START A PRODUCTION COMPANY! WHEN YOU STAR IN A FILM, ALSO GET ON AS A PRODUCER…DOUBLE YO’ MONEY!

No word on when this film will go into production, but they’ll likely be working around Haddish’s insanely busy schedule.

She just wrapped production on two films set to be released in 2022. She also stars in the upcoming Paul Schrader drama-thriller, The Card Counter, which is set to hit theaters September 10, 2021.

Tiffany Haddish Set To Star As Olympic Icon Florence Griffith Joyner In Upcoming Biopic

We’ve been telling you that Tiffany Haddish has made the transition from “that funny girl” to “oh wow, she can actually act!”

The 41-year-old actress started off by landing supporting roles in a handful of comedy films, and now after years of hard work, she’s landing serious movie roles.

It was announced this week that Haddish will star in an upcoming Florence Griffith Joyner biopic. Florence was perhaps best known by her nickname, Flo-Jo.

Haddish will play Flo-Jo, in a feature that tells the story of the Olympian’s remarkable life and untimely death, showcasing her historic feats, but also her enduring impact on the entire world of sports and in the communities that needed her help and inspiration the most.

Flo-Jo was a 3x Olympic Gold-winning track and field star, and Haddish has revealed she was one of her heroes growing up.

I am looking forward to telling Flo-Jo’s story the way it should be told. My goal with this film is making sure that younger generations know my ‘she-ro’ Flo-Jo, the fastest woman in the world to this day, existed.

Haddish will also produce the film. No word on when production is expected to begin, but we’ll keep you posted.

Who knows, Haddish could be looking at some awards for this performance.

Tiffany Haddish Set To Produce/Star In ‘Mystery Girl’ Adaptation

Tiffany Haddish continues to impress. She started off as a stand-up comic, then starred in some goofy comedy films, and now she’s transitioning into a legit movie star.

She’s set to produce/star in the upcoming Netflix film, Mystery Girl. The feature is based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, created by Paul Tobin and Alberto Alburquerque.

Haddish will star as Trine who, living off the grid in Los Angeles as a street psychic, has no memory of who she is or where she came from but is guided by an omniscient VOICE in her head that knows everyone’s business and everyone’s darkest secrets. When a down on his luck LAPD officer, Cooper, seeks out Trine in hopes that she’ll help him crack a case, the two are framed for murder and must work together to clear their names and solve the ultimate mystery: the one behind Mystery Girl herself.

The film will be directed by ‘The Babysitter‘ filmmaker, McG. And as mentioned above, Haddish will produce under her She Ready Productions label.

Apparently, the writer behind this movie is also a mystery because no writer was mentioned in the article.

No word on when production might begin, but it’s likely this film gets a 2022 release date on Netflix.

Tiffany Haddish Set To Star In Sci-Fi Drama ‘Landscape With Invisible Hand’

Tiffany Haddish has mostly been known for her comedic roles, but now she’s trying to make a move to the drama world.

She’s set to star in the upcoming sci-fi drama, Landscape with Invisible Hand, which is based on M.T. Anderson’s novel of the same name.

Landscape with Invisible Hand features a near future in which an alien species known as the Vuvv has taken over Earth. After the Vuvv’s labor-saving technology causes Earth’s job market and global economy to collapse, a teenager and his girlfriend cook up a way to make much-needed money by broadcasting their dating life to the fascinated aliens.

Unfortunately, things go badly when, over time, the two teens come to hate each other and can’t break up without bankrupting their families.

This actually sounds extremely interesting. A unique idea. I mean, it’s based on a novel, but at least the source material is unique.

Not sure what role Haddish will play in the film, but it’s apparently going to be a major one.

Plan B and Annapurna landed the rights in 2017, developed together and brought the package to MGM. The pic will be released theatrically in the U.S. via MGM’s distribution and marketing joint venture United Artists Releasing. Plan B and Annapurna are producing.

Congrats to Haddish! Hopefully this is the start of a new direction in her career. Honestly, I think she’ll kill it in the dramatic space. Sometimes her comedy comes out a little forced, but I think she can act with the best of them.

Oh Snaaap! Tiffany Haddish Set To Co-Star Opposite Nicolas Cage In ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’

We were already excited for the upcoming film ‘The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent’ because it stars the legendary actor Nicolas Cage.

Not only does it star him, but he’s set to play an even crazier version of himself.

Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the script with Kevin Etten, is directing the pic, which follows a fictionalized, creatively unfulfilled Cage who, in the face of financial ruin, accepts a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a superfan (Pedro Pascal). When things take a wildly dangerous turn, Cage is forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

Sounds f**king great, right? Well, it’s going to sound even better because now we have learned that Tiffany Haddish has joined the project and will co-star opposite Cage.

Her character is described below…

Haddish will play eccentric rogue government agent Vivian, who, in a long-standing battle against one of the largest criminal organizations in Europe, forces Cage to go undercover in a crazy, off-book, last-ditch effort to bring them down for good.

This sounds like it has the potential to be a hilarious, action-packed film full of multiple Cage freakouts.

Filming is expected to begin sometime this fall, which means it could be released sometime in 2021. We’ll keep you posted.

Watch Tiffany Haddish And Ike Barinholtz Star In Trailer For Political Comedy ‘The Oath’

Have you been craving more Tiffany Haddish? Well, we got some good news for you. The comedian/actress will star in the upcoming movie, The Oath.

The political comedy was written/directed by Ike Barinholtz. He also stars in the movie as Haddish’s husband, Chris.

“The film takes place in the aftermath of the White House asking Americans to sign a loyalty oath to the President, with the deadline being the day after Thanksgiving. Naturally, Thanksgiving dinners across the country are sure to be pretty divisive (to say the least) over the issue.”

It’s a pretty brilliant idea. There is already so much drama between families on Thanksgiving, so to add this loyalty oath is genius. I’m pretty sure if something like this ever happened, I’d be staying home and eating a Hot Pocket by myself.

The Oath is scheduled to hit theaters October 12, 2018. Check out the trailer below…

Movie Review: Keanu – Endearing and Hilarious at the Same Time.

hero_Keanu-2016 - 07MAY2016

First off, I’ll admit the name threw me. I mean, there’s literally only one thing you associate with Keanu, and that’s Keanu Reeves. But let’s make this clear. He’s not in this movie. However, the cat which this movie is focused around a is named Keanu, with a wink at Reeve’s prior pet revenge film John Wick.

The premise is a unique one. Two bumbling guys pose as bad assed drug dealers in order to save an adorable kitten that seems to leave tragedy in its wake. Despite the ridiculous premise, it’s actually buyable because the leads are that charming and the cat is ridiculous cute. Add gold chains and a dew rag to ridiculous cute, and you have a kitten, that even the hardest core thug will fall in love with.

Keanu-Red-Band-Trailer-640x267 - 07MAY2016

This is weird for me to say, because in theory, this movie should be everything I hate. Not only do I hate cats, I never particularly liked Key & Peele. They’re a real hit or miss for me, but this feels like one of their sketches that was a complete hit, because these guys had me laughing throughout.

It’s been a long time since this has happened to me with a comedy. I consider myself comedy desensitized because I see so many movies. As a result, I can understand when something is humorous in a pragmatic way, without actually laughing. Yeah, I know I’m a real bucket of laughs to go to the movies with. But rarely is something so funny that it catches me by surprise and makes me really laugh. Generally, if that happens once in a movie, I call that movie good.

I lost count of how many times Keanu made me do that. Maybe it’s the adorable premise (you haven’t felt heartwarming until you see a lot of really scary guys fighting over a really cute cat), or the way Key and Peele play off each other, but the entire thing is endearing and hilarious at the same time.

KIII - 07MAY2016

Another thing to note is the excellent and understated cameos. Anna Farris pokes fun at herself as a katana wielding drug addict. Method Man also does a good job of playing tough yet vulnerable bad guy Cheddar.

But it’s the two stars who own the show. They don’t develop as characters. Instead, they’re genuinely nice from the beginning and never turn to the ‘nice guy goes bad’ cliché in the end. It’s a refreshing change of pace for a fish out of water comedy like this.

Of course, it’s not for the easily offended, but I will say this. These guys never make a joke for the sake of being offensive; instead, they try stay pretty true to life, stereotypes and all. Well, as true to life as a crazy story like this could get.

Keanu is coming in at a respectable 3rd at the box office, holding its own against big budget blockbusters The Jungle Book and The Huntsman; Winter’s War. The movie has earned its spot at the top, and is easily a great choice if you’re looking to laugh.

WE GIVE IT: 4.5 STARS!
