It’s Official, ‘The Kissing Booth 2’ Is In Development, Original Cast Set To Return

Netflix had a pretty great year in 2018. They released some award-winning films, and some films that resonated with their younger audience. One of those films was The Kissing Booth, which was adapted from a Beth Reekles novel of the same name.

The movie was not exactly a hit with critics, but that’s okay because it wasn’t designed to please critics. It was supposed to target teenagers and it did just that. At one point, Netflix revealed The Kissing Booth was “one of the most watched” movies in the world on its streaming service.

Now, nine months after its release, Netflix has confirmed that a sequel is happening. One of the stars of the movie, Joel Courtney, went on his Twitter account to share the exciting news…

Both Joey King and Jacob Elordi will return for this sequel, which is scheduled to begin filming later this year. If everything goes as planned, The Kissing Booth 2 will likely be released sometime in 2020.

This news comes just a few months after Netflix announced they’d be making a sequel to another young adult hit, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Production on that sequel is expected to start this year as well, so both sequels might hit Netflix in 2020.
