The trailer was released this week. It stars Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba. They promoted the trailer by jumping on Twitter as their characters…

The Trailer For ‘IT’ Has Already Been Hit With Multiple Parodies, Check Out Our Favorite Inside: Cat in The Hat Edition!

The trailer for Stephen King’sIT‘ was released last week and it scared millions of people, mostly because clowns are freaking terrifying. It’s easy to scare people with a clown.

But what happens when you take the clown out of the trailer and replace him with Mike Myers’ Cat in the Hat? Well, surprisingly…it’s even more creepy.

The fan-made parody trailer you see below replaces the shots of Pennywise with the lovable(?) Dr. Seuss character.

It makes sense. When the 2003 live-action film was released, many people pointed out how creepy Myers’ Cat in the Hat was. I remember having nightmares for at least a week after watching the movie, and now those nightmares will probably return.

By the way, the original trailer for ‘IT’ broke all kinds of records. It got nearly 200 million views in just 24 hours, which smashes the record (139 million) that was previously held by the first Fate of the Furious trailer.

IT will be released at a theater near you September 8, 2017.

The First Teaser Trailer For Stephen King’s ‘It’ Has Arrived, And It’s Pretty Terrifying (VIDEO)

Are you ready to have nightmares? If so, you’ve clicked on the right link. Warner Bros. dropped the first teaser trailer for the latest big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

And thankfully it looks scary as hell. We were worried they might ruin a good thing, but this looks like it has potential.

According to the reports, this version of the story will be set in the ’80s instead of the ’60s, and it’s based on the first half of King’s 1986 novel. The story follows a group of kids around as they are absolutely terrorized by Pennywise.

Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), and Bill Skarsgård star in the movie, which is set to be released September 8, 2017.

Get your popcorn, and possibly a change of underwear ready, ’cause this movie is going to be a hit. Watch the trailer below.

Stephen King Has Made It Official: Matthew McConaughey And Idris Elba Will Star In ‘The Dark Tower’

kin

We knew there was at least a 90% chance of this happening, but now we can increase things to 100%, thanks to a series of tweets from Stephen King. The film version of The Dark Tower is finally moving forward, and it’s going to have two huge names leading the way.

Idris Elba has been confirmed to play the gunslinger Roland Deschain, and Matthew McConaughey will show off his acting range by playing villain Randall Flagg. Obviously, this is great casting news because both Elba and McConaughey are incredible actors, but honestly it’s just nice to know that production is finally getting started.

Stephen King and the film’s director Nikolaj Arcel spoke to Entertainment Weekly earlier this week to provide some more details on the exciting news.

“The thing is, it’s been a looong trip from the books to the film. When you think about it, I started these stories as a senior in college, sitting in a little sh-tty cabin beside the river in Maine, and finally this thing is actually in pre-production now. I’m delighted, and I’m a little bit surprised.”

I think we’re all a little bit surprised and delighted. During the interview, Arcel and King gave everyone a few details about how the first film might play out.

According to the author, the first film will begin in the middle of the events instead of at the beginning…

“[The movie] starts in media res, in the middle of the story instead of at the beginning, which may upset some of the fans a little bit, but they’ll get behind it, because it is the story.”

The first film in the series is expected to hit theaters January 13, 2017.

Stephen King Film Adaptation ‘It’ Hits Major Roadblock, Loses Director Cary Fukunaga

We have some bad news for all you It fans out there. Just as the project was starting to travel down the right road, it now looks like things are off track again. Director Cary Fukunaga was attached to the film adaptation, which excited many fans after his work on the first season of True Detective.

Fukunaga also seemed to be extremely passionate about this project. He had a vision for the film, and that’s ultimately why he decided to leave the project.

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s It recently moved from Warner Bros. to New Line, which is where the trouble started. According to The Wrap, New Line and Fukunaga couldn’t agree on anything. Fukunaga wanted to shoot the movie in New York. New Line wanted to go with a less costly filming location.

But the biggest problem was that the director wanted to spread King’s story over two films. Both films would follow around the same group of characters. The first film would show them as children, and the second movie would show them as adults thirty years later. This idea was apparently approved by Stephen King himself.

However, New Line didn’t like the idea. They were afraid the first film featuring children wouldn’t perform well with the older audience. Reports say New Line wanted to reduce It to just one movie, which sounds like a difficult thing to do. You can’t possibly cover everything in one movie.

We’ll see what happens with this film down the road, but as of right now, the project has stopped moving forward.

REPORT: Matthew McConaughey Will Play Villain Randall Flagg In ‘The Stand’

bey2

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the new adaption of Stephen King’s, The Stand. It was reported earlier that The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone will be directing the four-film series. This surprised some people, as it was originally reported that David Yates would direct.

It’s important to keep that in mind while reading the new rumors surrounding Matthew McConaughey.

According to The Guardian sources, McConaughey will play the role of the villain Randall Flagg. His character is described as a “grinning cowboy with supernatural powers,” which seems like a perfect fit for the 45-year-old actor.

If this report is true, it would just be another victory for McConaughey. After winning an Oscar for his brilliant performance in Dallas Buyers Club, he landed the lead role in one of the biggest films of the year, Interstellar. Oh, and he also starred alongside Woody Harrelson in the hit show True Detective.

The days of starring in terrible romantic comedies (Failure to Launch) are clearly over for Mr. McConaughey.

We do not have a release date yet for the first film in the series, but we do know they plan to start production next spring. We will keep you updated.

Matthew McConaughey Is A Wanted Man, May Play Villain Role In The Stand

Josh Boone, the director of The Fault In Our Stars, and Warner Bros. are working hard to develop a big screen version of Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic story, The Stand.

It’s being reported that they really want Matthew McConaughey to play villain Randall Flagg. According to Deadline, Matthew must choose between starring in The Stand or taking on the mining drama, Gold. The film was written by John Zinman and Patrick Massett, and is “set around a ruthless search for the precious metal.”

The film is still very much up in the air, so if they could attach Matthew McConaughey’s name to it, that would certainly help with production. Right now, it appears the 44-year-old actor is more involved with Gold. His name has been linked to the film for several months now, and it does appear he’s excited about the project.

His role in Stephen King’s The Stand is still up in the air. While it’s clear Josh Boone wants him in the film, it’s unlikely McConaughey could take on both projects.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Honestly, it sounds like both roles would be perfect for the actor. He is in the zone right now, and everyone in Hollywood wants him.
