Peter Dinklage Slams Disney’s Upcoming Live-Action Remake of ‘Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs”

Hollywood has been slowly becoming more and more progressive in recent years after fighting it for decades.

But while they have improved in some areas, they’re still behind in others, at least according to Peter Dinklage. The ‘Game of Thrones‘ actor, who is currently receiving praise for his performance in the musical ‘Cyrano‘, was on Marc Maron’s ‘WTF podcast‘ on Monday.

And during the chat, Dinklage talked about Disney’s plan to remake Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. For those who haven’t heard, Disney reportedly signed Rachel Zegler to star as Snow White. Dinklage thinks it’s great they’re giving the lead to a Latina actress, but can’t help but wonder why they’re remaking this story in the first place.

You’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f*cking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together. What the f*ck are you doing man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox?

If you listen to the clip, you can hear Dinklage was half-joking, but also serious. You can tell this has an impact on him, and if it’s impacting him, you know it’s impacting other little people. But of course, studios don’t actually care about your feelings. They care about money, so until enough people are outraged, they’ll continue to do whatever they want.

Disney’s latest adaptation of the classic 1938 animated film is set to star West Side Story actror Rachel Zegler as Snow White, Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Andrew Burnap as a newly created male lead character.

The remake is scheduled to begin production in the U.K. this spring.

Another Live-Action Reboot? You Bet! Disney Is Making ‘Snow White’ Reboot, Get All The Details Inside!

It’s been like a week since we’ve heard any news on live-action remakes being developed, and that’s one week too long. But don’t worry, Disney is here to save the day once again. The studio is developing a live-action movie musical of Snow White.

They are currently trying to close a deal with Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train) to write the script, and the songwriters from La La Land, Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, have been hired to write new songs for the reboot.

No actors or directors have been attached to the project, but we’re sure that will be changing soon. Disney is currently live-action crazy. They’re also working on a spinoff to Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs focusing on Snow White’s sister.

And we all know about the success they’ve already had with Cinderella and The Jungle Book. The live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast will be released in March of 2017, and that will be followed by The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and The Lion King.

It’ll be interesting to see which of these movies end up failing. That’s the only way they’re going to stop. When will the audience get sick of them? We’ll just have to wait and see.
