Watch Jamie Foxx And Dave Franco In First Official Trailer For Horror-Comedy ‘Day Shift’

The always entertaining Jamie Foxx plays a secret vampire hunter in the upcoming action-horror-comedy film, Day Shift, from director J.J. Perry.

Foxx is a seasoned vampire hunter named Bud, who sees his home life with his wife and daughter failing, thanks in large part to his secret line of work.

While Bud’s family generally goes with the story that he works as a pool cleaner, in reality, he’s one of the many vampire hunters operating around the world to take out the blood-sucking ghouls for sizable bounties. Unlike Bud, who somehow managed to get himself booted from the union in the past, hunters like Big John Elliott (Snoop Dogg) count on their membership to get paid and stay involved in the larger fight against evil.

That’s right, Snoop Dogg also plays a vampire hunter in this wild flick. In addition to Snoop and Foxx, this movie co-stars Meagan Good and Dave Franco.

As for how the director landed Snoop? Well, he didn’t treat him like he’s Snoop.

I told Snoop when I met him, ‘Listen I’m not hiring Snoop Dogg, I’m hiring Calvin Broadus [the actor-rapper’s real name]’ and I think that really spoke to him. Everyone hires him to be that pot-smoking West Coast guy. I put a cowboy hat on him and I gave him the same swagger as my old platoon sergeant.

Day Shift will hit Netflix on August 12, 2022.

Lil Rel Howery And Josh Brener Set To Star In Upcoming Comedy Film ‘Bromates’

Are you ready for a comedy film executive produced by Snoop Dogg? We got one for you. It was announced this week that Lil Rel Howery and Josh Brener will star in the upcoming film, Bromates.

The film is scheduled to be released in 2022, which means filming is going down as we speak. The movie is being directed by Court Crandall, who co-wrote the beloved comedy Old School back in 2003.

According to the report, Bromates revolves around two best friends who break up with their girlfriend at the same time, subsequently deciding to move in with each other.

In addition to Howery and Brener, this flick stars Taryn Manning, Asif Ali, Jessica Lowe and Jamie Brewer.

Crandall had this to say about the project…

Bromates was initially conceived as what would happen if you took today’s complicated environment of dating and social media and combined it with The Odd Couple. Our goal was to make a big raucous comedy, but at the same time give it a contemporary flair that made it more inclusive.

It’ll also boast an underlying social message, promoting solar energy usage…because why not? I’m sure there’s comedy in there somewhere.

It’s nice to see Howery get a leading role. The dude is too talented to always be the side character/best friend type.
