We are speechless, as well. After having success with Moneyball, Brad Pitt and his production company Plan B Entertainment, have decided to team up with best-selling author Michael Lewis again. According to Variety sources, the next film from Plan B will be an adaptation of Lewis’ novel, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine.

The non-fiction book details the build-up of the housing and credit bubble back in the early 2000s, which led to the massive collapse in 2007-2008. Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling have all agreed to star in the adaptation, which will be written and directed by Adam McKay.

Of course, McKay is known for Step Brothers, The Other Guys and Anchorman. Not exactly the first director you would pick for a serious and important film like this; however, we are going to trust Brad Pitt. Sources say Pitt is extremely passionate about this project, so there is obviously a reason he believes McKay is the right person for this job.

But honestly, it doesn’t even matter. None of this matters. We should have just stopped after the GIF. This film could be two hours of Christian Bale and Brad Pitt trying to feed Ryan Gosling cereal, and it would still pull in more than $250 million.
