Watch James Franco Star As Tommy Wiseau In The First Trailer For ‘The Disaster Artist’

James Franco is going for an Oscar nomination with this role, but will he get one? It’s too early to say, but this teaser trailer makes it seem like he has a decent shot.

On Tuesday, A24 released the first teaser trailer for The Disaster Artist, a dark comedy about the making of the 2003 movie The Room, which has been called the worst movie ever made.

The Room was written and directed by Tommy Wiseau, and that’s who James Franco plays in The Disaster Artist. The film first premiered at SXSW Festival in March, and critics claimed Franco’s performance was award-worthy.

It currently sits at a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but there have only been 12 reviews counted. Still, this first teaser trailer backs up those positive reviews. I am really excited to watch this movie now.

In addition to Franco, Alison Brie, Lizzy Caplan, Zac Efron and Bryan Cranston also star in the film. It’s scheduled to be released December 1, 2017.

Oscar Legend Daniel Day-Lewis Announces He Is Retiring From Acting, But He Refuses To Say Why

No one expected this. At 60-years-old, Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the most respected actors in Hollywood. He’s the only man to win three Best Actor Academy Awards, for his work in My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln.

According to Variety, he has one film awaiting release, an untitled drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson scheduled to hit theaters Christmas 2017.

And that film will be his last. A spokeswoman for the actor released a statement to confirm Day-Lewis is retiring from acting…

“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject. ”

As mentioned above, he’s only 60-years-old, so it seems like a bit early for retirement…especially for an actor who can take as much or as little work as they want.

Hopefully it’s nothing serious. When something like this happens, your mind jumps to, “what if he is sick?” or what if something happened to a family member, etc.

But maybe he’s just tired of the Hollywood life. He’s been in the game a long time, he’s won several awards, starred in some fantastic movies…what else can he do in the acting world?

So for now, we’ll just say: “Congrats on the retirement!”

Wait, What? Adam Sandler Is Getting Outstanding Reviews From Critics For His Performance In ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ COULD HE BE NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR?

Adam Sandler is a tough nut to crack. For the past 5-10 years, every Adam Sandler film (put out by his Happy Madison Productions) has been awful. They have been so terrible that people have started to forget about his great movies in the ’90s and early 2000s. Kids today see Sandler as a joke.

And that’s really sad because we all know he has real talent. He showed off his acting skills in the 2002 drama Punch Drunk Love, but for some reason he didn’t continue down drama road. Instead, he went the opposite direction and started making movies like The Ridiculous 6.

But maybe, at the age of 50, Sandler is ready to turn things around. He stars in Noah Baumbach’s latest film The Meyerowitz Stories  (New and Selected).

The movie, which is about an estranged, dysfunctional New York family, received a four-minute standing ovation after it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

And do you know which cast member is getting the most praise? Adam Sandler. And that’s saying a lot because this movie also stars Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller and Emma Thompson. In the film, Sandler plays the oldest son of a cranky “and memory-challenged New York sculptor Harold Meyerowitz, played by Hoffman.”

Sandler is getting legit Oscar buzz for his performance. Several critics say Sandler deserves a nomination for his performance. Variety wrote this in their review…

“Perhaps that’s why Netflix, which is in the Adam Sandler business, scooped up this relatively high-brow Scott Rudin production just weeks before its Cannes film festival premiere. Still, it’s odd to think that the company responsible for Sandy Wexler and The Ridiculous Six could conceivably earn Sandler his first Oscar nomination — and his best role since Punch-Drunk Love played Cannes in 2002.”

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to watch this movie.

‘Dumb & Dumber’ As An Oscar-Worthy Drama? We Got The Clever Recut Trailer Inside! (VIDEO)

This video is almost a year old now, but we never made a post about it, and it’s going viral again…so why not share it with you all?

Dumb & Dumber is a classic comedy film. We were also going to call it the stupidest film ever, but then we remembered Dude, Where’s My Car? was released in 2000.

Anyway, we all know there is nothing dramatic about Dumb & Dumber. The most dramatic scenes involve laxatives and this noise…

But what if the trailer for the movie looked a little different? Put in some dramatic music, sprinkle in some clever editing, and you have a completely different movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio Confirms ‘The Revenant’ Was His Most Difficult Film Ever, Appears To Be Front-Runner For Best Actor!

revv

You won’t hear any official reviews for The Revenant from critics until Dec. 4, but we’re already hearing some rumors following the first screening Monday night for an audience of award voters at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Goldwyn Theater.

The film certainly made an impact on the audience. As THR claims, voters left with strong reactions, most of them being positive. However, the long runtime (over two and a half hours) and the gruesome images had some people walking out of the theater.

There is one thing most everyone agreed on though. Leonardo DiCaprio did a wonderful job in the movie and deserves to win that first Oscar. It’s hard to view this as a real possibility considering he’s been screwed so many times before, but the competition does look less frightening this year.

After the screening was complete, Leonardo participated in a Q&A session, where he admitted the extreme conditions while filming made everyone’s job harder, “It was the most difficult film, I think, that any of us have ever done.” He said.

He also revealed they rehearsed like a stage production for an unusual amount of time because they often only had 90 minutes a day to capture “the beautiful, illustrious Chivo light.

The Revenant will have a limited release in the United States on Christmas day, followed by a wide release starting on January 8, 2016.
