Whether you want it or not, ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog’ is coming to a theater near you. The film is the first to bring the gigantic dog to the big screen. The classic book character had an animated series on PBS for a couple seasons, but this is the first big screen adaptation.
The first official trailer dropped this week, and as you can see, they took “big red dog” to heart, cause Clifford is huge in this movie.
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
The film was directed by Walt Becker from a screenplay by Jay Scherick, David Ronn and Blaise Hemingway.
In addition to the stars listed above, you’ll also find David Alan Grier, Tony Hale and Russell Wong in this movie.
It’s scheduled to hit theaters September 17, 2021. Check out the trailer below…
