Check Out The First Trailer For ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’ WOOF WOOF!

Whether you want it or not, ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog’ is coming to a theater near you. The film is the first to bring the gigantic dog to the big screen. The classic book character had an animated series on PBS for a couple seasons, but this is the first big screen adaptation.

The first official trailer dropped this week, and as you can see, they took “big red dog” to heart, cause Clifford is huge in this movie.

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!

The film was directed by Walt Becker from a screenplay by Jay Scherick, David Ronn and Blaise Hemingway.

In addition to the stars listed above, you’ll also find David Alan Grier, Tony Hale and Russell Wong in this movie.

It’s scheduled to hit theaters September 17, 2021. Check out the trailer below…

Hollywood Is Making A Movie About The Rubik’s Cube

The Rubik’s Cube is confusing as hell, but it’s not nearly as confusing as the decision to make a movie about it.

It was announced this week that Hyde Park Entertainment Group and Endeavor Content are working together to create a feature film about the classic, best-selling puzzle toy.

The film — details of which are still sparse — will be produced by Amritraj and executive produced by Priya Amritraj and Addison Mehr for Hyde Park. Meanwhile, the game show will be executive produced by Amritraj and Andrew Glassman of Glassman Media.

Of course the details are sparse…WHERE IS THE STORY? IT’S A FREAKING CUBE!

According to the statistics, over 450 million Rubik’s Cubes have been sold around the world. I suppose their thinking behind it is that at least half of those Cube owners will want to watch a movie about a toy they received when they were 10 and played with for an hour before throwing in the closet.

I’m assuming this will be an animated film? Like we’re following a Rubik’s Cube’s journey? Or will it be a live-action film, about some dude who is trying to break a Rubik’s Cube world record? I have no idea.

If it’s the former though, and we’re following an animated Rubik’s Cube, they better hire Ice Cube to voice the role. That’s the only thing I’m interested in.

Vince Vaughn’s Body Swap Horror Film ‘Freaky’ Grabs Top Spot At Box Office

Even though cases are surging across the country (or really, across the world) movies are still being released inside theaters.

One of the latest films to be released? Freaky, the body-swap horror film starring Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton. The film received fairly positive reviews from critics, which probably helped bring it to the top spot at the box office.

The movie played on over 2,400 screens across the country and made $3.7 million over the weekend. It made a total of $5.6 million worldwide.

Obviously these would be terrible numbers in normal times, but during a raging pandemic? It’s not so bad, especially considering the film only cost $6 million to make.

Analyst David Gross says it’s going to be very profitable…

It’s going to be very profitable. With the pandemic surging and additional U.S. theaters closing, this is a good opening.

For those who don’t know, the movie follows a serial killer and a high school teen who switch bodies on Friday the 13th. It’s a pretty neat concept and it looks like a lot of fun.

Universal Pictures Is Trying To Land Tom Cruise’s Rumored Space Movie (THAT WILL ACTUALLY BE SHOT IN SPACE!)

Do you all remember hearing about the crazy report back in May? You know, the report claiming Tom Cruise and filmmaker Doug Liman were hoping to make a movie in space?

Well, it looks like they’re moving forward with the insane idea, and they reportedly have the full cooperation of Elon Musk’s SpaceX and NASA, who will house the production on the International Space Station.

A new report claims Universal Pictures is deep in negotiations to land the project.

This kind of innovation does not come cheap. Sources said the production budget has been set at $200 million in the most optimistic projections. Cruise could earn somewhere between $30 million and $60 million, according to insiders. This would cover his services as a producer and star, and also be comprised of significant first-dollar gross participation over a windfall up front.

And while a $200 million budget is a lot, you have to think about how much buzz this movie would create. People would run to the theater to see this movie. It would be history. The first narrative feature shot in space.

So Universal is probably thinking, “$200 million to make history? Sure, why not.”

By the way, Cruise is 58-years-old. By the time this project starts filming, he could be pushing 60. The dude has to be some sort of robot.

Watch The Trailer For UFO Film ‘Skyman’ From The Blair Witch Project’s Daniel Myrick

Daniel Myrick, co-director/writer of the original Blair Witch Project, is getting ready to release his latest movie, Skyman.

The UFO film, which was recently acquired by Gravitas Ventures, follows the story of Carl Merryweather, “who believes he experienced an alien encounter at 10-years-old and is now trying to reconnect with the UFO at the same location.”

The film had its world premiere back in 2019 at the Austin Film Festival. The studio plans to release the sci-fi flick in drive-in theaters beginning on June 30. It’ll then be released on demand one week later.

This will be Myrick’s first feature film since his 2008 movie, The Objective, which did not perform well with critics.

Say Whaaat? Tom Cruise And Elon Musk Are Trying To Film First Narrative Feature Movie In Space

Tom Cruise is a badass action star. There is no denying that. You can dislike him as a person, but you can’t deny his box office appeal. The dude brings in the money, and for good reason, he’s a great actor.

And he’s not afraid to push the limits, which is why it’s not surprising to hear that he wants to film a movie in space.

We’re hearing that Tom Cruise and Elon Musk’s Space X are working on a project with NASA that would be the first narrative feature film – an action adventure – to be shot in outer space.

It sounds ridiculous, but sources insist it’s true. No studio is involved with this project currently, but with Cruise attached, it shouldn’t take long.

No word on what exactly the story would be, but it would NOT be part of the Mission: Impossible franchise.

Obviously this is still in the early stages, but if Cruise and Musk can pull this off, it would be pretty incredible.

We’ll keep you posted.

Secret Santa In Small-Town Iowa Buys Everyone In Town A Ticket To Watch ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’

It’s about time for some feel good news, right? A secret Santa in Webster City, Iowa, made the generous offer to pay for everyone in town to see the Mister Rogers biopic, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

The movie, starring Tom Hanks, will reportedly start playing at the local theater December 20, and anyone in town can watch it for free during its eight showings, thanks to this anonymous donor.

Webster Theater manager Ann McGlaughlin said the theater, which often struggles to remain open, is bracing for a packed crowd.

‘This has become the talk of the town. Everywhere I go, people are like, ‘Is it true? Is somebody really going to pay for everybody to come to the movie?’

The donor told the local news station that s/he believes anonymity is an important part of generosity. “Think the definition of charity is to give without the expectation of any return,” the donor said.

Those are some wise words. It’s easy to give when you know people will hear about it, but to do good truly for the sake of making others happy? That’s the good sh*t right there.

Sarah Silverman Reveals She Was Recently Fired From A Movie Because She Wore Blackface Once During Comedy Sketch

Much like her ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman has grown a lot since she first jumped in the Hollywood scene. Kimmel had his controversial ‘The Man Show‘ on Comedy Central back in the early 2000s, which featured pranks that wouldn’t see the light of day now.

And Silverman had her own sketch show, The Sarah Silverman Program, which was also on Comedy Central. And just like The Man Show, the Sarah Silverman program featured a few controversial sketches, including one sketch where Silverman wore blackface make-up.

The episode, which was intended to examine racism from the point of view of Silverman’s eponymous character, features the comedian saying: ‘I look like the beautiful Queen Latifah,’ and telling the congregation at an African-American church: ‘I’m black today.’

Obviously, Silverman no longer stands by the sketch. During an interview last year with GQ, Silverman said…

I don’t stand by the blackface sketch. I’m horrified by it, and I can’t erase it. I can only be changed by it and move on. That was such liberal-bubble stuff, where I actually thought it was dealing with racism by using racism. I don’t get joy in that anymore. It makes me feel yucky.

And unfortunately for Silverman, that sketch is still following her around today. During a recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Silverman explained she was recently fired from a movie because of the sketch…

I recently was going to do a movie … a really sweet part and a cool little movie. Then at 11 p.m. the night before, they fired me because they saw that picture of me in blackface from that episode. So they hired someone else who’s wonderful but who’s never stuck her neck out.

It was so disheartening, it just made me real, real sad because I’ve kind of devoted my life to making it right.

It’s rough, but these are times we are living in. One tweet, one photo, one quote can ruin your career. It doesn’t matter if it was posted one day ago or twenty years ago. If you’re on the verge of becoming famous…DELETE THOSE TWEETS NOW BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

The Long Awaited ‘Deadwood’ Movie Now Has A Teaser Trailer

Fans of the HBO show ‘Deadwood‘ have been waiting a looong time for this. If you look up any “tv shows canceled too soon” list, you’ll see ‘Deadwood’ near the top. The American Western TV series had three seasons on HBO before being canceled.

Fans of the show were devastated and for years they have been teased with rumors of a Deadwood movie.

Well. finally, HBO has delivered. Fans will finally (or at least hopefully) get the ending they deserve with this upcoming two-hour movie.

The film will reportedly be set years later in the chronology of the show from when we last saw Al Swearengen (Ian Mcshane) and will see South Dakota officially joining the United States, along with the ramifications of that for the townsfolk.

Nearly all of the original cast members have returned for this film, which will premiere on HBO May 31, 2019.

Netflix Is Giving Us A ‘Between Two Ferns’ Feature Film With Zach Galifianakis

That’s a title I never thought I’d have to write. A Between Two Ferns movie? Whaaat? How would they stretch out the awkward interview sketch format to a full length movie? Well, we are about to find out.

The online talk show, which featured host Zach Galifianakis, aired on Funny or Die between 2008 and 2014. It returned in 2016 to interview Hilary Clinton and again in 2018 to interview Seinfeld and Cardi B. If you haven’t seen the show, it’s basically Galifianakis playing a stranger version of himself conducting super awkward interviews with celebrities.

Check out the clip below to get a feel…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix wants a feature film version of this. Production is already (secretly) underway and Scott Aukerman is directing…

“The format looks to continue in some form as an all-star lineup has shot, or is slated to shoot, appearances. Peter Dinklage, David Letterman, Keanu Reeves and Galifianakis’ Hangover cohorts Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper are on the docket, according to sources.”

Weird. So is it just going to be two hours of awkward interviews? Or will there be a story line, sorta like Bad Grandpa? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Honestly. I think this dude does it better…
