Crazy ‘Over-Protective’ Father Shoots (And Kills) Daughter’s Boyfriend In Movie Theater Parking Lot

Some truly crazy things go down at movie theaters, and sadly someone died last Friday at a movie theater in Arlington, TX. After a movie theater date with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Omar Soto saw her father in the parking lot and went over to introduce himself.

The father gunned down Soto before he got the chance to properly introduce himself. He then got inside his vehicle and ran over both Soto and his own daughter who was trying to save her boyfriend.

Soto died at the scene. His girlfriend, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to the hospital. Last we heard, she was alive, but in serious condition. According to the reports, the father took his own life after driving away from the accident scene.

NBC DFW explains:

“Detectives soon learned that the girl’s father, later identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office as 43-year-old Rafael Brena Arteaga, followed the couple to a movie theater at the shopping center.

Police said as the couple and a female friend exited the theater and walked to their car, Arteaga cut them off. A witness told police it appeared Soto walked up to Arteaga to introduce himself. Police said when Arteaga asked Soto his name, Soto responded and Arteaga shot him multiple times. Arteaga then got into his vehicle and ran over both Soto and his daughter, before driving away, police said. According to police, Arteaga, who had no criminal record and was a licensed gun carrier, was known to be “over protective” and “possessive” of his daughter.”

Pretty crazy sh*t. That poor girl is going to be traumatized for the rest of her life.

Man In Kentucky Pulls Out A Gun Inside Movie Theater Because A Child Wouldn’t Stop Kicking His Chair

There are a lot of annoying things that can happen inside a movie theater. You might be forced to sit next to someone who won’t stop playing on their phone. Or maybe you’re sitting next to “that” couple who have to repeat and explain every single joke to each other.

Or maybe there is a kid sitting behind you who won’t stop kicking the back of your seat. That’s what happened to one man in Kentucky at a Cinemark Theater Saturday morning during a screening of Star Trek Beyond. The man got so annoyed by the constant kicking that he jumped out of his seat and yelled at the kid.

He reportedly cursed at the boy, which obviously didn’t sit well with the boy’s father. The two men started fighting inside the theater, and when the boy’s father started to take control, the annoyed man pulled out a gun and said, “What the (expletive) are you going to do now?”

Obviously people started running out of the theater when they noticed the gun. They weren’t about to take any chances, especially not with all the recent shootings.

Thankfully no one was shot during this incident though. Theater workers were able to calm the man down and get him out of the theater. He was arrested by police a short time later. Police didn’t release his name, so we’re just going to call him Mr. Butt for a Face.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, don’t be like Mr. Butt for a Face. All you need to do is calmly turn around and politely ask them to stop. If that doesn’t work, then you pull out the gun, but only after you ask nicely first.

Dangerous Leaf Blower Prank Inside Movie Theater Injures Multiple People

It seems like going to the movie theater gets more dangerous every single day. 10 years ago, the only thing you had to worry about was how you were going to sneak your entire kitchen pantry inside the theater without getting caught.

But now? It seems like there is a new theater shooting at least once a month. For some reason, people love to target theaters with their foolish behavior. People inside a Newport Beach movie theater had their movie experience ruined when pranksters entered a screening of the psychological thriller, The Gift.

According to the reports, one of the suspects was holding a leaf blower over his head. He revved its engine to create panic inside the theater. People started running and screaming, and multiple people were injured during the madness.

One injured witness told reporters the following…

“You’re literally thinking [about] ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ like there’s crazy people out there. You’re in a theater, and you think you’re going to die. [It was] like fight-or-flight, and some lady pushed me and I fell on the ground, and like seven or eight people trampled over my leg, and over my head.”

By the time police arrived, the pranksters were long gone; however, the theater does have security cameras and those are currently being reviewed. Hopefully they find something in the footage, because the reports from the people inside aren’t helping. So far, the suspects have been described as “White or Hispanic, in their late teens to early 30s,” which is pretty vague.

Police say it doesn’t matter if it was supposed to be a prank, “The fear that was incited in moviegoers was very much influenced by what’s going on in the rest of the country.” Jennifer Manzella of the Newport Beach Police Department said.

Hopefully they find the people. I mean, why did they have to pick a screening of The Gift? That’s probably the best movie currently playing inside theaters. If you’re going to act like a freaking idiot, at least act like an idiot inside a movie no one cares about.

It probably would have been a nice distraction inside a Fantastic Four screening.
